Quick Summary

Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 1 update goes live November 6, 2026, fully integrating Modern Warfare 4 with two new maps, a weapon and Operator reset, and a Legacy tab for older guns. Here's every confirmed change, from Hajin and Zodiac to the platforms Warzone is leaving behind.

Call of Duty: Warzone is getting its biggest overhaul in years on November 6, 2026, when Season 1 fully merges the battle royale with Modern Warfare 4. Activision's official roadmap, published on the Call of Duty blog on November 2, lays out two brand-new maps, a full weapon and Operator reset, several new mechanics, and a platform shakeup that drops last-generation consoles for good. Here is everything confirmed for launch, explained section by section.

1. When Season 1 Goes Live

Season 1 starts at midnight ET on November 6, 2026 (9 p.m. PT on November 5) across every supported platform simultaneously. The update is tied directly to the launch of Modern Warfare 4 and effectively resets Warzone's map rotation, weapon pool, and progression systems in one go, rather than rolling features in gradually the way past mid-generation seasons did.

2. Hajin: Warzone's First Map Set in Korea

The headline addition is Hajin, a large Battle Royale map set on the Korean Peninsula — the first Warzone map to be set there. It packs 13 major points of interest spread across both a North and South Korean side of the map, includes variable weather scenarios, and adds a new Gulag arena with two distinct layouts instead of the usual single design.

Hajin's POIs mix dense urban blocks, like a stadium district and a downtown core of damaged high-rises, with coastal and industrial zones. Activision is positioning it as the new default Battle Royale destination, replacing the map that currently anchors that playlist.

3. Zodiac: The New Resurgence Map

Resurgence gets its own new map in Zodiac, a tighter, ten-POI layout built around the fictional DRC Advanced Systems drone manufacturing facility. Infinity Ward co-developed Zodiac with Beenox, and the map leans into verticality around the DRC compound's rail bridges, wind-turbine ridgeline, and waterfront docks — a smaller, faster-paced footprint built specifically for Resurgence's quick-respawn format.

4. Rebirth Island Returns, Verdansk Is Coming Later

Two fan-favorite maps are also confirmed. Rebirth Island is back as a Resurgence option from the moment Season 1 launches on November 6. Verdansk is coming back too, but later in the season as an in-season addition rather than a day-one map, and Activision says it will include newer landmarks rather than being a straight re-release of the original layout.

5. Weapons, Operators and the New Legacy Tab

Every Modern Warfare 4 launch weapon — all 33 of them — is usable in Warzone from day one, plus additional armaments arriving later in the season. Each new weapon comes with its own Weapon Prestige track and Warzone Mastery Camos to grind for.

Older guns aren't deleted, but they are demoted. Weapons from Modern Warfare II through Black Ops 7 move into a new Legacy tab in the Loadout menu. Legacy weapons can still be used, but they can't be edited in Gunsmith and don't support Mastery Camos, Reticle Challenges, or Build Codes. Legacy Blueprints also start locked and have to be unlocked individually using Player XP in the Armory. If you want to keep building out the newer Black Ops 7 arsenal in the meantime, every weapon Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 6 added is worth a look before it rolls into the Legacy tab.

6. Progression Reset: Levels, Prestige and Grind for Royalty

Player Level resets with Season 1, and players can level up — and optionally Prestige — across Multiplayer, DMZ, and Warzone. A handful of things do carry over at launch rather than resetting: Apex Attachments, Season 1 Operators, Daily Challenges, Calling Card Challenges, and existing Battle Pass and BlackCell progress.

A new system called Grind for Royalty adds personal stat-based challenges that reset every season, with Gold Excellence and Gold Mosaic camos as the Season 1 rewards for completing them. Separately, Weapon Augments — passive perks grouped into CQC, Marksman, and Handling categories — can now be found through limited "Fly Buy" Buy Stations scattered across the map.

7. New Field Upgrades and Ground Ops

Two new Field Upgrades arrive with Season 1: the Zipline Launcher, which lets a squad fire a zipline onto nearby structures for fast rooftop-to-rooftop traversal, and the Grabber Drone, a controllable drone that can hook and relocate loot crates or supply boxes from a distance.

Season 1 also introduces Ground Ops: discoverable loot events like safes, surveillance towers, and radioactive barrels that reward players for seeking them out mid-match. Resurgence specifically adds a Weapon Trade Station and Drop Kits as mode-exclusive loot options, and three new Elite Perks — Athleticism, Phantom, and Fieldcraft — can be found at Buy Stations or earned through Supply Run Contracts.

8. Core Gameplay Changes

A few baseline movement and squad changes apply across every map and mode. Tactical Sprint is now available to every Operator by default, with no Perk required, though it runs for a slightly shorter duration than before. Reviving a downed teammate now lets you drag them to cover while the revive is in progress. Activision also says Season 1 includes general weapon balance tuning, visibility improvements across maps, and reworked footstep audio.

On the modes side, Battle Royale and Resurgence both get Casual variants at launch, alongside Rally Point, Massive Resurgence, and Loaded Resurgence playlists. Extreme Resurgence and a Rockets and Snipers playlist are scheduled to arrive mid-season rather than on day one.

9. Platform Changes: Switch 2 In, Last-Gen Out

Warzone is launching on Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time alongside Season 1. At the same time, Call of Duty: Warzone will no longer be playable on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One once Season 1 begins. Activision says progression carries over automatically to a supported platform as long as you log in with the same linked Activision account, so nothing is lost — but last-gen consoles themselves are cut off from the game going forward. This mirrors how Modern Warfare 4's release date and edition breakdown already confirmed the base game skips last-gen consoles entirely.

Quick Tips Before Season 1 Launches

  • Spend any remaining Battle Pass or BlackCell currency before November 6 — that progress carries over, but it's safer to redeem rewards early.
  • Expect a Player Level reset: don't be surprised when your rank drops back to 1 across Multiplayer, DMZ, and Warzone.
  • If a weapon you rely on isn't one of the 33 Modern Warfare 4 launch guns, it's moving to the Legacy tab — it will still work, just without Gunsmith edits or Mastery Camos.
  • PS4 and Xbox One players need to move to a current-gen platform (or Switch 2) and sign in with the same Activision account to keep their progress.
  • Hajin and Zodiac are day-one maps; Verdansk is coming but not until later in the season.

For context on what Warzone's Black Ops 7 era looked like right before this reset, Black Ops 7 and Warzone's Season 6 content was effectively the last major update of that cycle, and the Operator skin toggle Warzone added ahead of this integration was one of the final changes made specifically to prepare for Modern Warfare 4's arrival.
