Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 & Warzone Season 06 — The Haunting Explained
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone's Season 06 update, "The Haunting," launched September 17 with two new multiplayer maps, an expanded Zombies Rogue Run, Warzone's returning Haunted Hollow with the new Giant Infected mode, and a full DOOM crossover led by a Doom Slayer operator.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 06 update, subtitled "The Haunting," went live on September 17, 2026. It is the last full seasonal drop of the year and it arrives loaded: two new multiplayer maps, a reworked slate of Zombies content, the return of Warzone's Halloween-themed Haunted Hollow, and a full crossover with id Software's DOOM, headlined by a Doom Slayer operator. Here is everything confirmed for Season 06, straight from Treyarch and Raven Software's own announcement.
1. What's New in Season 06: The Haunting
The Haunting is a horror-themed seasonal event that Call of Duty has run in past years, and Season 06 brings it back across both Black Ops 7 and Warzone at once. The update touches almost every mode in the game: two new 6v6 multiplayer maps, two new limited-time modes, a new Zombies Survival map, an expanded Rogue Run roguelite mode, a Halloween variant of the Endgame map Avalon, and Warzone's returning Haunted Hollow map with a brand-new large-scale Infected mode.
On top of the new content, Season 06 adds the Camo Costume Party global event, a new Ranked Play series, and the DOOM Event Pass, which opens a week after launch on September 24.
2. New Multiplayer Maps: Quantum and Bloodstead
Quantum
Quantum is a brand-new 6v6 map set inside a Guild quantum computing facility buried in Arctic ice. Fights break out under a frozen turbine and around a damaged tower at the center of the facility, giving the map a mix of tight interior corridors and a taller central structure for long sightlines.
Bloodstead
Bloodstead is a rethemed variant of an existing Homestead-style map, reworked for The Haunting so that the water running through it has turned to blood and the surrounding buildings are dressed with seasonal horror set pieces.
3. New Limited-Time Modes: Hordepoint and T.E.D.D. Trials
Two limited-time modes launch alongside the new maps:
- Hordepoint — a variant of Hardpoint where zombies attack both teams while they fight for the objective, instead of one team simply holding a zone against the other.
- T.E.D.D. Trials — a 6v6 mode built around three existing Zombies maps (Roadkill, Inferno, and the map inside Kowakujō known as Lost), letting multiplayer squads fight it out on Zombies terrain with Ray Guns in play.
4. Zombies: Tenshu, Rex Infernus and an Expanded Rogue Run
Zombies gets a new Survival map called Tenshu, set in a confined section of the Kowakujō map around the Masaki family's ancestral castle grounds — areas like the Tenshu Entrance, Onsen Baths, War Room, and Workshop. It plays as a classic round-based Survival experience with the usual Perks, Mystery Box, Wall Buys, and GobbleGum Machine available to find.
Because the Zombies story concluded with last season's Rex Infernus map, Season 06 focuses on new ways to replay existing content rather than continuing the narrative. Rex Infernus gets a Directed Mode with on-screen quest steps and a round cap of 15, plus a Starting Room variant that challenges players to survive as long as possible with only the resources found in the map's opening area.
Rogue Run, the roguelite spin on round-based Zombies, expands to two more maps — Paradox Junction and Kowakujō — and adds three new pedestal upgrades: Pack-a-Punch Tier IV, an Ultra-Rarity weapon upgrade, and Golden Armor, available across every Rogue Run playlist. For the season, pumpkin-headed zombies also appear across Rogue Run with their own treat-filled pedestal rewards, and a new Super Easter Egg has been added.
5. Endgame: Avalon Night and the Forbidden Summoning Event
Endgame's Avalon map gets a Halloween variant, Avalon Night, where the sun sets on the map and a new supernatural threat appears courtesy of The Haunting. Alongside it, the season adds the Forbidden Summoning Event, a limited-time in-mode event with its own objectives and rewards.
6. Warzone: Haunted Hollow Returns With Giant Infected
Warzone's seasonal Halloween map, Haunted Hollow, is back for Season 06 with a Ghost Train that phases in and out of reality, Trick or Treat pumpkins scattered around the map that hand out either loot or a nasty surprise, and double-strength Power-Ups.
The map also debuts a new large-scale mode, Giant Infected, exclusive to Haunted Hollow. It runs with 64 players split into 8 Infected and 56 Survivors. Survivors have to collect DNA samples scattered around the map to build a DNA Bomb that can end the outbreak, while Infected players — who move with unlimited sprint, stronger melee attacks, rapid mantling, and no fall damage — try to stop them. Any Survivor killed and not revived in time joins the Infected side, so lobbies snowball fast toward the end of a match.
7. The DOOM Crossover Explained
Season 06's biggest crossover pulls id Software's DOOM into Call of Duty. The Doom Slayer arrives as a new operator through a separate DOOM Event Pass, which opens September 24, one week after the season itself. The Event Pass runs its own free and premium tracks: the premium track unlocks the Doom Slayer operator (with an alternate "Doom Guy" skin), while the free track includes cosmetics and the new ROC 20mm Special Weapon.
Separately, the Season 06 Battle Pass includes Revenant, a digital-intrusion-specialist operator, as part of a DOOM-themed BlackCell Revenant Collection, and the in-game Store adds a Tracer Pack: Doom Demonic Essence bundle alongside several other Haunting-themed bundles.
8. New Weapons, Blackjack and the Season 06 Battle Pass
Two weapons unlock directly through the free Battle Pass track: the TR51 Para assault rifle and the VMP SMG. Two more arrive through seasonal content — the Arcblade melee weapon through the Camo Costume Party event, and the ROC 20mm Special Weapon through the DOOM Event Pass. Three new attachments are also in rotation: the VS Rebound Havoc Repeater, the Dravec 45 Aftermath Vertical Mag, and the Sokol 545 Warpath Blitz Kit.
The Battle Pass itself instantly unlocks a new operator, Blackjack, on purchase, and includes up to 10 additional operator skins, weapon blueprints such as the Blood Grain melee blueprint, the Roaring Fire launcher blueprint, and the Bad Luck assault rifle blueprint, plus up to 1,100 Call of Duty Points, two Double XP tokens, and new emotes and finishing moves. Upgrading to BlackCell adds the Revenant Collection on top and includes the Season 06 Battle Pass itself.
9. Quick Tips and Official Resources
- The DOOM Event Pass doesn't open with the season — mark September 24 if the Doom Slayer operator is the reward you're after.
- BlackCell is the better value if you also want the Revenant Collection, since it bundles the standard Season 06 Battle Pass in with it.
- Giant Infected is Haunted Hollow-only, so drop into that specific Warzone playlist rather than the standard Resurgence or Battle Royale rotation to find it.
- If you're chasing Rogue Run's new Pack-a-Punch Tier IV and Golden Armor pedestal upgrades, they're available on every Rogue Run map, not just the two new ones.
- Rex Infernus's new Directed Mode is the easier way to farm its round-15 rewards without needing a full team coordinated on the map's side objectives.
Season 06 is a genre-spanning update rather than a single big set piece, so it's worth checking patch notes for your specific mode — multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone each got separate documents from Raven Software and Treyarch this time around.
