Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 — Hajin, Zodiac and the Modern Warfare 4 Release Date, Explained
Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 launches November 6, 2026, bringing a new battle royale map (Hajin), a new Resurgence map (Zodiac) and Modern Warfare 4's full weapon and progression pool into Warzone. Here's everything confirmed so far, plus what's still to come on November 2.
Call of Duty: Warzone's next season finally has a date. Season 1 goes live on November 6, 2026, bringing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 fully into the battle royale for the first time since the shooter launched standalone on October 23. The headline additions are two new maps — a brand-new battle royale battlefield called Hajin and a Resurgence map called Zodiac — plus Modern Warfare 4's weapons, operators and progression flowing directly into Warzone.
Here's everything Activision and Infinity Ward have confirmed so far, what's already live in Modern Warfare 4 ahead of the season, and what's still to be announced.
1. When Does Warzone Season 1 Start?
Season 1 launches Friday, November 6, 2026, across every platform. Call of Duty's official roadmap — first teased on the game's social channels on October 14 and confirmed in the "All You Need to Know" blog post later that month — lists the season going live at midnight ET on November 6 (9 PM PT on November 5). The update applies to both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Call of Duty: Warzone simultaneously.
One important platform note buried in the announcement: Warzone's support for PS4 and Xbox One ends when Season 1 arrives. From November 6 onward, Warzone is playable only on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2 — it remains free-to-play on all of them, so owning Modern Warfare 4 itself is still optional.
2. Hajin: Warzone's New Battle Royale Map
The biggest piece of Season 1 is Hajin, an entirely new battle royale map set across the same war-torn stretch of the Korean Peninsula that Modern Warfare 4's campaign is built around. Players who played through Modern Warfare 4's DMZ mode at launch will already recognize the name — Hajin served as the Forward Operating Base and extraction hub for DMZ, and Season 1 expands that same location into a full-size Warzone battleground.
Activision describes Hajin as a dense, radiation-scarred exclusion zone, a tonal shift from Warzone's more conventional city-and-countryside maps. Expect the kind of close-quarters urban blocks and industrial sprawl that Modern Warfare 4's multiplayer and DMZ maps have leaned on since launch, scaled up for a full battle royale lobby.
For a closer look at how that location played out in Modern Warfare 4's DMZ mode before Season 1, see our breakdown of Hajin and the DMZ Forward Operating Base.
3. Zodiac and the Return of Rebirth Island
Resurgence players get a new destination too. Zodiac, built by Beenox, is Season 1's new small-scale Resurgence map — early coverage of the map highlights a train line running through its center as one of its signature landmarks. Zodiac joins Rebirth Island, which stays in the Resurgence rotation alongside it, giving players two very different small-map loops to choose from at launch.
4. Verdansk Isn't Going Anywhere
Despite Hajin's arrival, Activision has confirmed that Verdansk remains in the main battle royale rotation for Season 1 rather than being retired. That means Warzone launches the season with two full-size battle royale maps running side by side — the newly built Hajin and the long-running fan favorite Verdansk — giving players a choice rather than a straight replacement.
5. Modern Warfare 4 Weapons and Progression Arrive in Warzone
Season 1 is also the point where Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone's weapon pools and progression systems properly merge. Modern Warfare 4's arsenal, attachments and operator unlocks start flowing into Warzone loadouts from launch day, while Operators, skins, weapons and blueprints earned in Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 all remain usable in Warzone going forward — nothing from those earlier titles is being retired.

6. What's Already Live Ahead of Season 1
Infinity Ward didn't wait until November 6 to start adding content. In the run-up to the season, Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer picked up several drops on a rolling schedule:
- October 27: Shipment, the classic small-scale map, was added to the multiplayer map rotation.
- October 29: Possession mode arrived as a new playlist option.
- October 30: Infected mode followed, rounding out the pre-season content cadence.
That steady drip of content is consistent with how Modern Warfare 4 launched — our rundown of Modern Warfare 4's release, editions and original Warzone plans has the background on how this rollout was always meant to build toward Season 1.
7. Battle Pass, BlackCell and the Valor Pack
Season 1 brings a new Battle Pass with its usual mix of weapon, operator and cosmetic unlocks. Owners of the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition also get BlackCell, the premium pass tier that bundles the standard Battle Pass with 20 tier skips and bonus Call of Duty Points on top of exclusive cosmetic content.
Activision has also confirmed the season includes a Call of Duty Endowment Valor Pack — a charity-linked bundle that supports the Endowment's veteran employment programs — alongside new Weekly Challenges and at least three Mastery Camo Challenges tied to Season 1's weapons.
8. What Hasn't Been Confirmed Yet
Activision has been explicit that this first wave of information isn't the full picture. The blog post confirming the November 6 date and the Hajin/Zodiac reveal specifically says a separate, Warzone-focused roadmap — covering the complete list of new weapons, points of interest, vehicles and any other mode changes — is scheduled to post on the official Call of Duty blog on Monday, November 2. Until that goes live, treat anything beyond what's listed above (including specific weapon names or exact POI layouts for Hajin and Zodiac) as unconfirmed.
