Quick Summary

Update 1.109 landed October 15 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone with the season's biggest weapon balance pass yet — and Treyarch's own patch notes confirm it's also the final content update for Black Ops 7 Zombies. Here's every weapon change and fix, straight from the official notes.

Treyarch and Raven Software released Update 1.109 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone on October 15, 2026, and it's the season's biggest weapon balance pass by far — dozens of guns across every class were touched in Multiplayer and Warzone alike. It also carries a quieter but bigger piece of news: Treyarch has confirmed this is the final game update for Black Ops 7 Zombies, with no further content planned for the mode. Here's everything that changed, confirmed straight from Call of Duty's own patch notes.

1. What Is Update 1.109?

Update 1.109 landed mid-way through Season 6, "The Haunting," which has been live since September 17. It's a cross-title patch: the same weapon tuning applies to both Black Ops 7 Multiplayer and Warzone, while a separate set of fixes targets Zombies maps and modes exclusively in Black Ops 7. The official Warzone patch notes describe it as the "final major weapon balancing pass" planned for the title, and the Zombies section is blunt about its own ending: it's described as the final game update for Black Ops 7 Zombies, with no further content additions planned.

That timing isn't an accident. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC, and Black Ops 7 is winding down its live-service cycle to make way for it. Treyarch's own farewell message laid out what comes next for the studio and the franchise once this cycle closes.

2. Every Weapon Change in Black Ops 7 Multiplayer

This is the largest single balance update of the season. Every number below is taken directly from the official patch notes.

Assault Rifles

  • TR51 Para: Rate of fire cut from 625 to 588 RPM (its Full-Auto Conversion kit is unaffected). Max damage falls from 43 to 40, removing its close-range two-shot headshot combo. An unintended one-sided upper-arm damage multiplier was also fixed, and the Bolt Carrier Group attachment now correctly grants +6% rate of fire.
  • DS20 Mirage: Its max-damage range actually grew slightly (0–30.5m to 0–31.5m), and hip-fire spread and view kick were both improved. The integrated grenade launcher's inner explosion damage jumps from 34 to 54.
  • Peacekeeper Mk1: Headshot multiplier raised from 1.25x to 1.34x, offset by a small cut to its medium-range body damage (22 to 21).

SMGs

  • VMP: The headline nerf of the patch — max damage range slashed from 20.3m down to 13.5m, with every other range bracket shortened to match. View kick was increased to compensate for the laser-beam reputation it earned after Season 6's weapon additions.
  • Gremlin: A buff — movement speed up 0.1 m/s, more reserve ammo, and the Procural Extended Mag attachment no longer penalizes Sprint-to-Fire Time or reload speed.
  • VST: Max damage range cut from 7.6m to 6.6m, though its medium-range bracket was extended slightly and both view kick and gun kick were smoothed out.
  • REV-46: A buff — max damage range extended from 14m to 15m, headshot multiplier up to 1.3x, and stock fold/unfold time cut by 150ms.
  • MPC-25: Max damage range reduced from 10.2m to 9.1m, though its medium-range damage ticked up from 23 to 24.
  • Dravec 45: A buff across the board — max damage range extended from 11.4m to 12.7m, with both medium damage ranges stretched out further.
  • Ryden 45K: View kick and gun kick both reduced, making it easier to control in sustained fire.

Shotguns

Every shotgun in the game got slower to swing into action, and sprinting hip-fire got noticeably less reliable:

  • SG-12: Sprint-to-Fire time up from 200 to 220ms, ADS from 250 to 270ms, and sprinting hip-fire spread widened by 1.5 degrees.
  • M10 Breacher: The biggest shotgun nerf — its Argus Lever attachment's hip-fire pellet damage drops from 18 to 16, ADS headshot multiplier falls from 3x to 2.5x, and its rechamber time slows from 450 to 500ms.
  • Echo 12: Sprint-to-Fire up from 230 to 250ms, with sprinting hip-fire spread widened by 2 full degrees — the largest accuracy penalty of the group.
  • Akita: The lightest touch of the four, with handling times nudged back by 10ms across the board.

LMGs and Marksman Rifles

  • Mammoth: A minor view kick increase, alongside a separate bug fix for its Prestige Attachment incorrectly reducing fire rate.
  • Sokol 545 (Warpath Blitz Kit) and XM325: Both received small handling and view kick improvements.
  • KRS 7.62: Movement speed up 0.1 m/s, ADS time improved from 330 to 315ms.
  • Warden 308: A significant nerf — its medium-range damage bracket was removed outright, pushing the minimum-damage range much closer in (41.9m, down from 57.2m), and its headshot multiplier fell from 1.45x to 1.39x.
  • M34 Novaline: Burst rate of fire cut from 750 to 706 RPM, ADS time slowed from 350 to 380ms, and ADS movement speed reduced — a clear attempt to rein in its burst-fire dominance.

The Roc 20mm special weapon also got a buff against Scorestreaks, making it a more reliable anti-air and anti-streak option. Season 6 had already added four new weapons to the roster, and this patch is largely Treyarch's response to how those guns and their accompanying attachments performed once the community got hold of them.

3. What Changed in Warzone

Warzone shares the same core weapon tuning as Multiplayer — the VMP nerf, the TR51 Para rework, the Gremlin and REV-46 buffs, and the shotgun handling slowdowns all carry over. On top of that, Raven Software shipped a set of Warzone-specific fixes:

  • Fixed an exploit that let players buy and stack Self-Revives from the Black Market for extended use while standing in the gas.
  • Fixed previously qualified players seeing their Warzone Prestige Challenges incorrectly marked as inactive.
  • Fixed the EAM IR-VIZ Reflex sight on the MXR-17 displaying as an iron sight when paired with the ANVL Conversion Barrel.
  • Fixed inverted fire-mode toggles on the M34 Novaline and M8A1.
  • Fixed the Tactical Raft spawning beneath the map near the Military Gas Station on Avalon.

4. The Final Zombies Update, Explained

The headline here isn't a new feature — it's the absence of one. Treyarch's patch notes state plainly that this is the last game update for Black Ops 7 Zombies, with no further content additions planned. Everything shipped in 1.109 is cleanup, not expansion:

  • Rex Infernus: Fixed zombie pathing breaking near Caltheris Temple, and fixed players losing the Void Claw relic after picking up an item.
  • Mister Peeks Mayhem: Fixed weapons duplicating when Pack-a-Punched in alternate-fire mode.
  • Boss Rush: Fixed players being left behind when the phone vote ends, and fixed the Guardian boss's slam attack displaying incorrectly when elevated.
  • Rogue Run: Fixed the Abomination enemy getting stuck when spawning in the Kowakujo Training Area and near the Mystery Box in Zarya Cosmodrome.
  • Cursed: Fixed Samantha's Drawing Relic incorrectly replacing the Ballistic Knife with a non-melee weapon.

On the content side, Season 6's weapons — including the VMP and Arcblade melee weapon — were added to the Mystery Box pool, and missing rarity tiers were filled in for the VMP, Arcblade, Katana, and Ballistic Knife. It's a tidy, modest list, which is exactly the point: Treyarch is closing the book on Zombies' live content rather than opening a new chapter. Anyone still chasing Tenshu's Super Easter Egg or the Rogue Run game mode now has a final, stable version of both to finish on.

5. Why This Matters Before Modern Warfare 4

Update 1.109 reads like a studio tying off loose ends. The weapon balancing is described as Black Ops 7's final major pass, and Zombies is explicitly done. Together, they signal that Treyarch and Raven Software are shifting their attention to supporting Modern Warfare 4's October 23 launch and its own Warzone integration plans rather than continuing to build out Black Ops 7's live content. For players still in Black Ops 7, this is effectively the version of the game that will stick around: expect stability patches and anti-cheat updates from here, not new weapons or Zombies maps.

Quick Tips Recap

  • If you relied on the VMP's long effective range, expect to switch loadouts — its max damage range was cut nearly in half.
  • The Gremlin, REV-46, and Dravec 45 all got meaningful buffs and are worth a second look in both Multiplayer and Warzone.
  • Every shotgun handles slightly slower now; lean on movement speed and positioning rather than quick-swapping into fights.
  • Zombies players should treat the current build as final — there are no more maps, modes, or weapons coming.
