Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies Season 6: Tenshu, Rogue Run and the Super Easter Egg Explained
Black Ops 7's Season 6 update, The Haunting, adds a new castle Survival map called Tenshu, a Directed Mode for Rex Infernus, two new Rogue Run maps with fresh pedestal rewards, and a Super Easter Egg for clearing every Round-Based map. Here's everything Treyarch has confirmed for Zombies this season.
Season 06, subtitled The Haunting, launched for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on September 17, and while most of the coverage around it has focused on the new Multiplayer maps and Warzone's Haunted Hollow, Treyarch also shipped a full slate of Zombies content. A new Survival map set in a haunted castle, a Directed Mode for the Rex Infernus main quest, two additions to the roguelite Rogue Run playlist, and a Super Easter Egg for players who have cleared every Round-Based map are all live now. Here's what Treyarch has actually confirmed for Zombies this season, and how each piece fits together.
1. What's New for Zombies This Season
Treyarch's official Season 06 rundown lists four Zombies-specific additions: the new Survival map Tenshu, a Directed Mode and Starting Room variant for the Rex Infernus main quest, two new maps added to the Rogue Run rotation with fresh pedestal rewards, and a Super Easter Egg tied to completing every Round-Based map. On top of that, The Haunting's Halloween theming adds pumpkin-headed zombies and treat-filled pedestal rewards across Rogue Run playlists, and three classic Zombies maps have crossed over into a new 6v6 Multiplayer mode called T.E.D.D. Trials. None of this requires a purchase beyond owning Black Ops 7 — it's all part of the free Season 06 update.
2. Tenshu: A New Survival Map Set in an Ancestral Castle
The headline addition is Tenshu, a new Survival map built around the Masaki family's ancestral castle, which is described in Treyarch's own notes as "being overrun." Survival maps in Black Ops 7 don't follow a fixed main quest — instead, the goal is to rally your squad in the map's central keep and hold out against the undead horde as long as possible, pushing past round milestones to unlock rewards along the way. Tenshu is available now as a launch addition to Season 06, meaning it's playable immediately rather than arriving later in the season.
Because Survival maps are built for endurance runs rather than a scripted story, Tenshu is the mode to drop into if you want a straightforward, high-intensity Zombies session with a squad rather than a lengthy Easter egg hunt.
3. Rex Infernus Gets a Directed Mode and a Starting Room Challenge
Rex Infernus, the Round-Based Zombies map introduced earlier in Black Ops 7's Zombies story, picks up two new ways to play this season. Directed Mode adds extra on-screen guidance through the map's Main Quest, which is aimed at players who want to experience the story without hunting down every step themselves. Alongside it, a new Starting Room variant does the opposite: it confines the whole match to the house where players begin, turning Rex Infernus into a tighter, close-quarters test rather than a full map crawl.
Having both options live at once means Rex Infernus now caters to two very different playstyles — guided story progression on one end, and a stripped-down survival challenge on the other — without Treyarch having to release a separate map for either.
4. Rogue Run Adds Paradox Junction, Kowakujō and New Pedestal Rewards
Rogue Run, Black Ops 7's roguelite take on Round-Based Zombies, expands this season with two maps pulled into its rotation: Paradox Junction and Kowakujō. Alongside the new maps, Treyarch added three new pedestal rewards to the mode's run-altering pool, including Pack-a-Punch IV — described as an Ultra-Rarity weapon upgrade — and Golden Armor. Pedestal rewards in Rogue Run are the mode's core hook: each run offers a choice of buffs and upgrades that reshape how a squad approaches that particular attempt, so adding a new Ultra-Rarity tier to the pool raises the ceiling on how strong a single Rogue Run can get.
If you haven't touched Rogue Run since it launched, this is a reasonable point to jump back in — the mode now draws from a wider pool of maps and a deeper reward pool than it had at the start of the season.
5. The Haunting's Halloween Twist: Pumpkin Zombies and the Super Easter Egg
Because Season 06 is themed around The Haunting, Zombies gets a seasonal coat of paint on top of the new content. Treyarch confirmed pumpkin-headed zombies are now spawning across all Rogue Run playlists, and defeating them can drop treat-filled pedestal rewards — a Halloween-flavored spin on the mode's usual reward pickups. This is a limited-time cosmetic and reward layer on top of Rogue Run's existing structure rather than a separate mode.
Separately, and not tied to the Halloween theming, Treyarch is also running a Super Easter Egg for players who complete the Main Quest on every Round-Based Zombies map released in Black Ops 7 so far. Official notes describe "unique rewards" for finishing it without specifying exactly what they are, so treat any claimed reward list you see elsewhere as unconfirmed until Treyarch details it directly. What is confirmed is the requirement: every Round-Based map's Main Quest has to be cleared, which makes this a goal for players who have been following the game's Zombies storyline since launch rather than a quick weekend task.
6. T.E.D.D. Trials Brings Zombies Maps Into Multiplayer
The other major Zombies-adjacent addition this season isn't in the Zombies menu at all — it's a new 6v6 Multiplayer playlist called T.E.D.D. Trials. It rotates a random set of five trials built on three classic Zombies maps repurposed for Multiplayer for the first time: Roadkill from Ashes of the Damned, Inferno from Kowakujō, and Lost from Totenreich. Matches mix standard team-vs-team combat with a horde element, and players can wield Ray Guns against that horde alongside their normal loadouts.
It's a limited-time mode rather than a permanent addition to the Multiplayer map rotation, so it's worth prioritizing while Season 06 is active if you want to see familiar Zombies geography play out under Multiplayer rules.
