What is Yeardle?
Yeardle is a free daily history trivia game at histordle.com. Each day it lists three real events that all took place in the same year — anything from ancient Rome to the late twentieth century — and asks you to guess that year in up to eight tries. After every guess a coloured square tells you how close you were: green for an exact hit, then yellow-green, orange, red and brown as the distance grows, with grey for guesses more than 200 years off. You can switch the display between BC/AD and BCE/CE, and turn on an arrow hint that says whether the answer is earlier or later. One new puzzle appears each day, numbered consecutively, and everyone gets the same year.
