Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar Games has now confirmed exactly what you get for your money. There are two versions of the game — a Standard Edition and a $20-more-expensive Ultimate Edition — and the gap between them is bigger than a few cosmetic extras. If you're trying to decide which one to pre-order, here is everything Rockstar has officially confirmed about pricing, bonus content and what actually changes in the game itself.

1. GTA 6 Editions at a Glance

Grand Theft Auto VI comes in two versions, both confirmed directly by Rockstar Games when pre-orders opened on June 25:

• Standard Edition — $79.99. Includes the base game plus the Vintage Vice City Pack for anyone who pre-orders or buys before November 20.
• Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition — $99.99. Includes everything in the Standard Edition plus a large collection of vehicles, weapons, apparel and five exclusive in-game shops.

Rockstar has been clear that GTA 6 does not have a tiered mid-priced edition or a season pass — it's just these two options, and the Ultimate Edition can also be bought as a standalone upgrade after launch if you start on Standard and change your mind later.

Every copy of Grand Theft Auto VI, digital or physical, includes the full single-player story following Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Anyone who pre-orders the Standard Edition, or buys the game outright before November 20, also receives the Vintage Vice City Pack at no extra cost.

Rockstar describes the pack as a set of items that "flash back to when the neon burned brightest" — a retro '80s-styled wardrobe for both protagonists and a classic muscle car, the Vapid Stanier, styled after the era. It's a cosmetic pack rather than a gameplay one, aimed at players who want a Vice City look straight out of the original games.

3. What's Included in the Ultimate Edition

The $99.99 Ultimate Edition includes the base game, the Vintage Vice City Pack, and a much larger set of premium content. Rockstar's own description calls it "an exclusive collection of items threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story" — vehicles, weapons, apparel and access to shops that are simply locked to everyone else.

Confirmed Ultimate Edition content includes:

• The Wyman Car Collection, a set of premium vehicles for the protagonists' garages
• A modified '95 Grotti Cheetah and a Vapid Buggy variant
• Hawk & Little Morgan revolver weapon variants
• Additional apparel themed around Vice City nightlife
• Access to five exclusive single-player shops (detailed below)

4. The Five Ultimate Edition-Only Shops Explained

The headline feature of the Ultimate Edition isn't a single item — it's that five storefronts in Leonida simply won't open for Standard Edition players. Rockstar and multiple outlets that previewed the edition confirm the same five locations:

Rideout Customs

A Vice City mod shop for turning ordinary cars into show vehicles, with detailed interiors, custom rims and donk-style builds.

One-Eyed Willie's

Located out by Lake Leonida, this shop focuses on off-road modifications and hand-painted automotive work, as a counterpart to Rideout Customs' street style.

Sara's Unisex Salon

The exclusive hair and beauty shop, covering signature looks for both protagonists — facial hair styles for Jason, makeup and nail options for Lucia.

Stock 305

A clothing store in Leonida's Stockyard neighborhood, stocking apparel not available anywhere else in the game.

Electric Fang Tattoo

A tattoo parlor stocking more than 50 designs created in partnership with the art collective FAILE.

5. Pre-Order Timing and Pre-Load Dates

Rockstar confirmed the full release timeline alongside pre-orders:

• June 25, 2026 — Pre-orders opened at midnight local time for both editions.
• November 12, 2026 — Digital pre-load begins, so the game is ready to play the moment it unlocks.
• November 19, 2026 — Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
• Before November 20, 2026 — Deadline to pre-order or buy the game to still qualify for the free Vintage Vice City Pack.

No PC release date has been announced for either edition. Rockstar and Take-Two have not said whether or when a PC version is coming, so anyone buying on PC right now should treat that as unconfirmed rather than assume day-one availability.

6. Should You Buy the Ultimate Edition?

Because none of the Ultimate Edition's shops or items are required to finish the story, the decision mostly comes down to how much you care about customization variety on a first playthrough. Two things are worth knowing before you decide:

• The Ultimate Edition Upgrade can be purchased separately at any time, including after launch — you are not locked out of it forever by starting with the Standard Edition.
• Everything in the Ultimate Edition is cosmetic or vehicle/weapon variety rather than exclusive missions or map content, based on what Rockstar has shown so far.

If you're not sure yet, buying Standard now and upgrading later if you fall in love with the character customization options is a reasonable way to hedge, since the price difference stays the same either way.

7. The World You're Buying Into: Vice City and Leonida

Both editions drop you into the same story: Jason and Lucia, a couple caught up in a conspiracy that spans the state of Leonida after "an easy score goes wrong." Leonida is Rockstar's rebuilt, modern take on Vice City, built at roughly twice the size of GTA V's map and split across multiple biomes, from the neon-lit city itself out to swampland and coastline.
