VALORANT Hush Guide: Every Ability Explained and How to Play the New Duelist
Hush is VALORANT's newest Duelist, built entirely around telekinesis instead of raw speed — pulling, flashing and levitating enemies with abilities that can be redirected mid-flight. Here is exactly what each of her abilities does and how to start playing her effectively.
Hush, VALORANT's newest Duelist, has been live since Patch 13.09 on October 27, 2026, and her kit is unlike anything else in the Agent roster. Instead of smokes, flashes thrown in a straight line, or a simple dash, Hush builds her entire kit around telekinesis — pulling, redirecting and levitating anything and anyone caught in range. Here is exactly what each of her abilities does, officially, and how to start using her effectively.
1. Who Is Hush?
Riot Games introduces Hush as a Duelist operative who uses telekinetic power to close "classified cases." Her official bio frames her as a precise, controlled fighter rather than a reckless speedster: she redirects her own combat utility mid-air to disrupt and displace enemies before moving in for the kill. That framing matters for how she plays. Where agents like Jett or Raze reward aggression and movement speed, Hush rewards patience, crosshair placement and the ability to track a floating projectile in real time.
2. Telekinesis: The Passive That Changes How She Fights
Hush's passive, Telekinesis, lets her pick up weapons, the Spike (when on the attacking side) and interact with switches from a noticeably longer range than any other Agent. In practice this means she can grab a dropped rifle, swap to a teammate's deagle, or pick up the Spike from several meters further away than usual — useful for late-round plant attempts or weapon swaps under pressure without fully exposing her position.
3. Displacement: Pull the Fight Apart
Displacement is Hush's signature pull ability. Equip it, then either fire to throw it or alt-fire to prepare and carry it with her. Once it goes off — on contact with a surface or after a short delay — it pulls every player caught in its radius toward its center, and anyone who collides with a wall or another player while being pulled is concussed. Crucially, it can be redirected toward her crosshair after being thrown, so a bad initial angle doesn't have to waste the ability. It also resets every two kills, which means a hot streak lets her chain Displacement far more often than its base cooldown would suggest.
4. Flashbulb: A Flash You Can Redirect Mid-Flight
Flashbulb works on the same equip/throw/prepare/redirect system as Displacement. It detonates on a surface or after a delay and flashes every player looking toward it when it pops. The redirect is the important part: because Hush can steer it toward her crosshair after throwing it, she can correct a flash that would otherwise sail past a doorway or miss an angle completely, something no other flash-type Agent in the game can currently do mid-throw.
5. Flow: Her Mobility and Site-Entry Tool
Flow is Hush's movement ability. It instantly creates an anchor point, and when she activates it, she's pulled toward that anchor after a short delay. If she's airborne when Flow triggers, she briefly hovers in place before being propelled forward. It's less about raw speed than Jett's dash or Neon's slide — Flow is a positioning tool for entering a site at an angle defenders don't expect, or repositioning mid-fight after Displacement or Flashbulb has already done its job.
6. Suspension: The Ultimate That Locks Down a Team
Suspension is instantly prepared when activated, then fired forward with full crosshair steering as it travels — so Hush can curve it around corners or walls as it flies. Reactivating the ability, or firing again, detonates it on the spot, levitating every player caught nearby. Levitated enemies are left completely vulnerable: lifted off the ground and unable to use weapons or abilities until it wears off. Landed correctly in a choke point or on a stacked site, Suspension can take an entire retake or execute off the table in one activation.
7. Early Tips for Playing Hush
A few things stand out from Hush's kit that are worth practicing in the range before taking her into a ranked match:
- Practice the redirect window. Both Displacement and Flashbulb can only be steered after being thrown, not after being prepared and carried — know which version you're using before you commit.
- Save Displacement for forced trades. Its two-kill reset rewards using it aggressively once you're already fragging, rather than hoarding it for a single perfect pull.
- Use Telekinesis' range for safer weapon pickups. Her extended pickup range lets her grab a dropped rifle or the Spike without stepping as far into the open as other Agents would need to.
- Line up Suspension before a full push, not during one. Because it travels with crosshair steering and needs a reactivation to detonate, it rewards pre-aiming a choke point rather than panic-firing it mid-fight.
8. Where Hush Fits in a Team Comp
Hush doesn't play like a pure entry fragger. Her flash and pull both affect wide areas rather than single targets, which makes her closer to a Duelist/Initiator hybrid — she can set up a trade for herself the way Initiators set up trades for a whole team, then follow up with Flow to close the distance. That makes her a strong pick alongside a dedicated Initiator who covers information (recon darts, trips) while Hush handles the actual disruption and entry. If you're still working out which Agent fits which map and role, how each competitive map's signature mechanics work is worth reading alongside this guide, since Suspension and Displacement both perform very differently on tight, corridor-heavy maps than on open ones.
9. What Else Patch 13.09 Changed
Hush wasn't the only change in Patch 13.09. Clove had their Pick-me-up bonus movement speed reduced from 15% to 10% (now applying as a Haste buff instead of the old timer-bar effect), and killing Clove immediately after they cast Pick-me-up now grants the killer an ultimate point and a signature ability charge. The Warden rifle also got a handling pass, with smoothed pitch recoil on its first few bullets and tighter follow-up spread, aimed at making it feel more consistent at its 2900-credit price point. For the full list of balance changes, bug fixes and system updates, the full Patch 13.09 patch notes breakdown covers everything patch-by-patch, and our coverage of her original reveal has the background on how Hush was announced before launch.
Hush also arrived alongside VALORANT's Agent Mastery system, introduced a few patches earlier — if you want the full picture of how mastery tracks your progress on a specific Agent, the Agent Mastery system Riot introduced a few patches earlier explains how it works end to end.
Quick Recap
- Hush is a Duelist who uses telekinesis to pull, flash, levitate and extend her pickup range.
- Displacement pulls and concusses, resets every two kills, and can be redirected only when thrown.
- Flashbulb is a steerable flash — correct a bad throw after it's already in the air.
- Flow is a positioning tool: an anchor point she's pulled toward, not a straight-line dash.
- Suspension, her ultimate, is a crosshair-steered orb that levitates and disarms everyone caught in its blast.
- She pairs best with an Initiator who can feed her information before she commits her utility.
