Quick Summary

Stellar Blade Complete Edition is out now on Nintendo Switch 2, bundling SHIFT UP's action game with every DLC released so far plus a free Bayonetta costume crossover. Here's the price, what's actually included, and what's different about the Switch 2 cartridge release.

Stellar Blade Complete Edition launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026 (00:00 KST/JST on November 6 in Korea and Japan), bringing developer SHIFT UP's acrobatic action game to a Nintendo console for the first time. The Switch 2 version bundles the base game with all previously released DLC, adds a new free Bayonetta-themed costume collaboration, and ships as a single, play-anywhere cartridge with no extra download required.

Here's what's actually in the box, what the Switch 2 version changes, and what you're getting if you buy in now versus the pre-order window that already closed.

1. Release Date and Price

Stellar Blade Complete Edition is available now for Nintendo Switch 2 at $59.99 / £54.99 / €59.99 (regional pricing may vary slightly by storefront). It released simultaneously worldwide, with the Asian release clocking in at midnight local time on November 6 — the same moment as the November 5 Western release, just viewed from a different timezone. The game is rated ESRB M (Mature 17+), so it sits alongside the PS5 and PC versions, which carry the same content and the same rating.

Physical shoppers get a genuine benefit here that a lot of third-party Switch 2 ports skip: the cartridge holds the entire game. SHIFT UP has confirmed there's no game-key card and no mandatory day-one download to actually play — pop in the cartridge and go. A separate SteelBook limited edition, featuring new key art exclusive to that package, is also available through participating retailers in limited quantities.

2. What's Included in the Complete Edition

"Complete Edition" isn't just marketing here — SHIFT UP has folded in everything released for Stellar Blade since its original 2024 PS5 launch. That means:

  • The full base campaign
  • The NieR:Automata collaboration content
  • The GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE collaboration content
  • A Stargazer outfit set for EVE, Adam and Lily
  • Half-Rim Glasses, a Quadruple Rectangle Earring and the Planet Diving Suit (Captain) for EVE
  • Stargazer and Fluffy Bear cosmetic packs for EVE's drone companion
  • 2,000 SP and 5,000 in-game Gold as a head start

If you already own the base game and its DLC on PS5 or PC, none of this is new content — it's the same package, just now available on a Nintendo platform for the first time.

3. The Bayonetta Collaboration, Explained

Alongside the Switch 2 launch, SHIFT UP is adding a free "Bayonetta Nano Suit" collaboration: four couture outfits for EVE inspired by PlatinumGames' Bayonetta. This isn't exclusive to Switch 2 — it's rolling out for free on Switch 2, PS5 and PC all on the same day as the Switch 2 release. Three of the four costumes were shown in the official pre-order trailer; the fourth was kept under wraps at the time of the announcement. It's a crossover purely in the cosmetic sense — there's no gameplay or story tie-in, just new outfits for EVE to wear during combat and cutscenes.

4. What's Different on Switch 2

Beyond the cartridge format, SHIFT UP built a handful of hardware-specific touches into the Switch 2 version:

  • Joy-Con 2 gyro controls are used for the game's fishing minigame.
  • Touchscreen support is added for some of the game's puzzle sequences, for use in handheld or tabletop mode.
  • Players can toggle frame generation off entirely if they'd rather prioritize a more traditional rendering pipeline over the smoother but occasionally artifact-prone frame-generated image.
  • The game supports all three Switch 2 play modes — TV, tabletop and handheld — with no mode-exclusive content cut.

5. What Is Stellar Blade, For Newcomers?

If you've only heard the name in passing: Stellar Blade is a third-person action game originally released on PS5 in 2024, starring EVE, a member of a planetary invasion force sent to reclaim Earth from monstrous creatures called Naytiba. Combat centers on a parry-and-dodge rhythm similar to character-action games like Bayonetta or Sekiro — precise timing matters more than button-mashing, and bosses are built around learning specific attack patterns. Between combat encounters, EVE explores a mix of linear story chapters and a more open hub area, trades with an NPC merchant, and upgrades her gear using skill points and crafting materials found in the world.

The story also leans on quieter exploration beats between the action: survivors hiding out in fortified settlements, environmental storytelling about what happened to Earth's population, and side activities like the fishing minigame that the Switch 2 version now controls with motion input. It's a longer game than its combat trailers suggest — a full clear with a reasonable amount of side content runs well past 20 hours.

6. Should You Buy the Switch 2 Version?

The calculus is straightforward. If you've never played Stellar Blade and you own a Switch 2, the Complete Edition is the cheapest way to get the base game plus every piece of DLC released so far in one purchase, and the free Bayonetta costumes land for everyone on day one regardless of platform. If you already cleared it on PS5 or PC, there's no new story content here to pull you back in — this release is about portability and the crossover cosmetics, not new chapters.

One date worth noting if you're buying physically or digitally ahead of time: SHIFT UP's pre-order window (which unlocked an early Planet Diving Suit variant, Classic Round Glasses and Ear Armor Earrings for EVE) was tied to orders placed before launch — if you missed it, those specific pre-order items won't be available through a post-launch purchase, though the core Complete Edition content is unaffected.

SHIFT UP's own pre-order trailer gives a good sense of how the Switch 2 build actually looks and plays:

It's also a useful data point for how willing third-party studios now are to bring PS5-tier action games to Switch 2 in full, rather than stripped-down ports — something worth watching alongside how Fortnite's own Switch 2 build handles performance and controls or how Minecraft's Switch 2 edition has rolled out its own set of pre-order bonuses and editions on the same console.

Quick Recap

  • Stellar Blade Complete Edition is out now on Nintendo Switch 2 for $59.99, alongside its existing PS5 and PC versions.
  • It bundles the base game with the NieR:Automata and GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE DLC, plus extra outfits, drone cosmetics and a head-start in SP and Gold.
  • A free Bayonetta Nano Suit costume collaboration (four outfits for EVE) launches the same day on every platform, not just Switch 2.
  • The Switch 2 cartridge holds the full game with no day-one download required; Joy-Con 2 gyro drives the fishing minigame and touchscreen support is added for puzzles.
  • There's no new story content in this release if you've already finished Stellar Blade elsewhere — it's a portability and crossover-cosmetics release, not a content expansion.
