Quick Summary

Royal Match's November 5 update adds 100 new levels, a new Candy Factory area, a Pinata Stage, and the Element Hunt event. Here's how Element Hunt's five stages, level 51 requirement, and power-up bars actually work, straight from Dream Games' own notes.

Royal Match just got bigger. Dream Games pushed a new update to the match-3 puzzler on November 5, 2026, adding 100 new levels, a new area called the Candy Factory, a Piñata-smashing Stage, and a fresh limited-time event named Element Hunt. If you have been wondering what the "Element Hunt" banner on your home screen actually does, or how to unlock the new area, here is everything confirmed so far, straight from the game's own update notes and help center.

1. What's New in Royal Match This Week

According to Dream Games' own "What's New" notes on the Google Play listing, the November update covers three things: a batch of 100 new levels, a new area called the Candy Factory, and a new limited-time event called Element Hunt. The listing also reminds players that Royal Match adds new levels roughly every two weeks, so the level count will keep climbing even after this particular update rolls out of the spotlight.

None of this requires a fresh install — the update lands through the normal app store update process on iOS and Android, and existing save progress, coins and boosters all carry over as usual.

2. A New Area Opens: The Candy Factory

Royal Match has always been structured around King Robert restoring and decorating areas of his castle — rooms, gardens, chambers and the like — one set of levels at a time. The Candy Factory is the newest of these areas, described by Dream Games as a "sweet adventure" players unlock once they have cleared the tasks in their current area. As with every previous area, finishing the Candy Factory's levels and tasks is what opens the home-screen button for the next one, so there is no shortcut or purchase that skips ahead of normal level progress.

Dream Games has not published a detailed rundown of unique mechanics inside the Candy Factory beyond the update notes themselves, so treat specific obstacle types there as something to discover level by level rather than something confirmed in advance.

3. Unlock the Stage and Smash the Piñata

Alongside the new area, the update adds a Stage that players can unlock, with a Piñata to break open for rewards. This is the same basic reward-event format Royal Match has used before for other seasonal prizes: clear levels to make progress toward unlocking the Stage, then smash the Piñata itself once it is available. Dream Games' notes don't spell out the exact reward pool for this particular Piñata, so the safest approach is to check the in-game prize preview before you commit boosters or lives to rushing toward it.

4. How the Element Hunt Event Works

Element Hunt is the headline event of this update, and Dream Games' own help center spells out the rules in detail. It's a time-limited event made up of 5 stages, and you need to complete all five before the event's overall timer runs out to win the Grand Prize.

Two things gate your access to it:

  • Level requirement: you need to have reached Level 51 in the main game before Element Hunt will even appear for you.
  • Per-stage timer: once you start a level while a stage is active, that stage's clock starts running. You have to fill the stage's bars before the timer hits zero to move on to the next one.

Each stage has four separate progress bars, one for each of the following power-ups: Propeller, Rocket, TNT, and Light Ball. You fill a bar by creating and using the matching power-up inside a level. Clear all four bars in a stage before time runs out, and the next stage opens immediately with a fresh timer.

If a stage's timer expires before you fill all four bars, the bars for that stage are emptied — but you stay on the same stage and keep any stages you already finished, so you can simply try again with a new timer rather than losing all your progress in the event.

5. The Fastest Way to Fill Every Bar

Per Dream Games' own guidance, combining power-ups fills bars faster than using them one at a time:

  • Matching two Light Balls together fills all four bars at once — by far the most efficient single move in the event.
  • Combining a Light Ball with a Rocket, TNT, or Propeller fills the Light Ball bar, and the extra power-ups that combination creates also add to their own matching bars.
  • A Super Light Ball fills more of the Light Ball bar than a regular one does.
  • Any moves left over after you finish a level carry over and fill whichever bars still need it.
  • Once a specific bar is already full, using more of that power-up type stops adding progress — so it pays to watch which bars still need filling and aim your combos there.
  • Hard, Super Hard, and Extremely Hard levels fill bars faster than standard levels, which makes them worth prioritizing while a stage's timer is running.

One more detail worth knowing: bars only fill on your first attempt at a level in Royal Match's normal sense. If you lose a level or quit partway through, you'll need to clear that level outright before its moves start contributing to your bars again — though the stage timer itself doesn't pause while you retry.

6. Where Boosters Fit Into All of This

Element Hunt leans entirely on Royal Match's existing power-up system, so it's worth a quick refresher on what you're actually juggling. The game splits its tools into pre-level boosters, which you choose before a level starts, and in-level boosters, which you earn and use on the board itself.

Pre-level boosters — Rocket, TNT, and Light Ball — each place one of themselves on the board at a random spot the moment the level begins. In-level boosters work differently: the Royal Hammer clears a single tile or peels off one layer from an obstacle, the Arrow clears an entire row while also stripping a layer from anything in it, the Cannon does the same down a column, and the Jester Hat shuffles every tile on the board. Dream Games' help center notes that using an in-level booster never costs you a move, which makes them useful safety nets in tight spots.

If you want the full breakdown of how each of these combine on the board — not just inside Element Hunt but in everyday level play — this site's dedicated booster combo guide covers every pairing in detail.

7. Other Ways Royal Match Keeps the Castle Busy

Element Hunt is a solo event, but it's arriving alongside Royal Match's usual rotation of competitive and social events — King's Cup, Sky Race, Team Battle, and Lightning Rush are all still part of the game's regular events, per Dream Games' own store listing description. If you haven't looked into the social side of the game yet, Royal Match's Team Battle and Royal League setup is worth a read, since progress from daily play tends to feed into more than one event at once.

Royal Match isn't the only live-service match-3 running similar seasonal content right now, either. Games like Gardenscapes use the same basic formula of story-driven areas layered with limited-time events, and how Gardenscapes structures its own renovation events makes for a useful point of comparison if you play more than one of these games.

8. Quick Tips Recap

  • Element Hunt needs Level 51 or higher — keep progressing through the main level path if you haven't unlocked it yet.
  • Complete all 5 stages before the event's overall timer ends to claim the Grand Prize.
  • Fill each stage's Propeller, Rocket, TNT, and Light Ball bars by creating and using those power-ups; double Light Balls fill all four bars at once.
  • Play Hard, Super Hard, or Extremely Hard levels during an active stage — they fill bars faster than standard levels.
  • A failed or abandoned level attempt won't add to your bars; you need to clear it first.
  • The new Candy Factory area and Stage/Piñata reward both unlock through normal level progress — there's no separate purchase required to access them.

The update is live now on both the App Store and Google Play. As always with Royal Match, expect the next round of new levels in about two weeks, with Dream Games historically using that cadence to introduce fresh areas and events on a rolling basis.
