Fortnite Treasure Hunters: Crossbones Isle, One Piece Powers and the New Season Explained
Fortnite's Chapter 7 season, Treasure Hunters, launched November 1 with a full One Piece crossover: a new Crossbones Isle, Luffy's Gum-Gum Fruit and Zoro's Three Sword Style, and a weekly rotation of captains building toward a confirmed Chapter 7 end event on December 5. Here's everything Epic has officially confirmed about the new season.
Fortnite's newest season, Treasure Hunters, went live on November 1 and brings a full One Piece crossover to Battle Royale: a new 80-player island, Devil Fruit and swordsman abilities pulled straight from the anime, a rotating cast of weekly "captains," and a Battle Pass built around Luffy's crew. Here's everything confirmed so far, straight from Epic's own season announcement, and what to expect as Chapter 7 heads toward its finale on December 5.
1. What Is Fortnite Treasure Hunters?
Treasure Hunters is the new Chapter 7 season themed around a crossover with Eiichiro Oda's One Piece. The premise, per Epic's official season page, is a hunt for hidden loot scattered across a new island, capped off by "what's inside Captain X's mega chest." Each week of the season brings a new captain to the map with their own crew and point of interest (POI), starting with the Straw Hats and musician A$AP Rocky at launch, followed by Lil Uzi Vert, Cap'n Hatsune Miku, and Kasane Teto in the weeks after.
2. Crossbones Isle: The New Island
The season's new landmass is Crossbones Isle, an 80-player map built around the hunt theme. Epic's season notes describe launching from a cannon to reach the island, where players can visit recreations of two major One Piece locations: Arlong Park and Windmill Village. Both are tied to Luffy's early story arcs in the source manga and anime, giving the crossover a more grounded set piece than a simple reskin.
One of the island's named POIs is the $.$. Rocky, a battleship belonging to A$AP Rocky that players can board directly. According to the season announcement, climbing aboard lets you "rain rockets from above" using A$AP Rocky's signature Shock Rocket weapon.
3. One Piece Powers: the Gum-Gum Fruit and Three Sword Style
The headline additions for most players will be the two signature One Piece abilities Epic confirmed for the season. Playing as or picking up gear themed around Luffy gives access to the Gum-Gum Fruit, the Devil Fruit power that defines his stretching combat style in the source material. Equipment themed around Zoro instead uses his Three Sword Style, the three-katana fighting technique the character is known for across the anime and manga.
Epic's materials don't publish exact damage numbers or cooldowns for either ability in the announcement post, so treat specific combat tuning as something to confirm in-match rather than assume — Epic regularly adjusts numbers mid-season through smaller balance updates.
4. Weekly Captains: Who's Arriving and When
Treasure Hunters is structured around a rotating lineup of "captains," each bringing their own crew, cosmetics, and a dedicated POI to the island. Per Epic's schedule:
- Season launch (November 1): the Straw Hats and A$AP Rocky
- Lil Uzi Vert joins in the weeks that follow
- Cap'n Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto round out the later captain drops
Each captain's arrival typically lines up with new Item Shop cosmetics for that character, so expect the map and the shop to update in step with each new crew.
5. Captain's Days: New Weapons, Sprites and Bonus Loot
Alongside the captain rotation, Epic is running a recurring event called Captain's Days. On these days, new weapons, Sprites, and other items are added to the map. The first Captain's Day landed with the season at 9 AM ET on November 1, with further dates confirmed for November 7, 12, 14, and 21.
Two other weekly modifiers run throughout the season on top of that schedule: Mastery Mondays and Treasure Hours on Sundays. Per Epic, these add that week's captain weapons to the start of every match and boost loot drops — useful windows if you want guaranteed access to the newest season gear without hunting for it.
If you're unfamiliar with how Sprites work in Fortnite more broadly — leveling them up, what Mastery actually unlocks — our breakdown of Fortnite's Sprite system covers the mechanic in detail, and it carries over into how Captain's Days hand out rewards this season.
6. The Treasure Hunters Battle Pass
This season's Battle Pass is built around the crossover cast. Epic confirmed Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin as the featured One Piece characters, alongside new anime-styled looks for existing Fortnite mainstays Jonesy, Cuddle Team Leader, and Charlotte.
There's also a social incentive built in: gifting the Battle Pass to a friend gets both the gifter and the recipient a bonus Dark Kawaii Team Leader outfit style, on top of whatever else the Pass itself unlocks as you level it up.
7. Item Shop Schedule for the Season's First Few Weeks
Epic also published a rough shop rotation covering the start of the season:
- Season launch: Luffy, Nami, and Usopp
- November 5, 7 PM ET: A$AP Rocky
- November 7: Zoro, Sanji, and the Chopper Sidekick
- November 12: Lil Uzi Vert
- November 13: Buggy
- November 14: Kasane Teto and Cap'n Hatsune Miku
Shop rotations can shift by a day in either direction, so treat these as Epic's stated plan rather than a guarantee down to the hour.
8. Mark Your Calendar: December 5
Epic's season announcement specifically flags Saturday, December 5 as a date to keep open, describing it as tied to "an unforgettable Chapter 7 end event." No further details on the event itself were included in the announcement — no name, format, or in-game time was confirmed beyond the date — so anything circulating beyond that single line should be treated as speculation until Epic says more. Given Fortnite's history of map-ending live events, it's reasonable to expect another one here, but this piece won't guess at specifics Epic hasn't confirmed.
