Battlefield 6 Season 5 'Siege of Vegas': Release Date, Maps and Xbox Game Pass Launch Explained
Battlefield 6 Season 5 "Siege of Vegas" launches October 13, 2026, with two new maps, four weapons and a faster REDSEC mode — the same day the base game joins Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass for the first time. Here's every confirmed detail, straight from EA and Xbox Wire.
Battlefield 6 is about to have its biggest week since launch. On October 13, 2026, Battlefield Studios kicks off Season 5: Siege of Vegas, and on the very same day the base game joins Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass for the first time. Here is exactly what is confirmed, what is still to come later in the season, and where each piece of news actually comes from.
This guide pulls only from EA's own Battlefield 6 news page and Microsoft's official Xbox Wire post, so you can skip the rumor threads and go straight to what is locked in.
1. When Does Battlefield 6 Season 5 Start?
Season 5 goes live on October 13, 2026. EA has not published an exact server-restart time, so expect the usual rollout where different regions see it live within a few hours of each other. If you have never played Battlefield 6, EA is also running a Full Game Trial from October 15 to 19, though the exact window can vary slightly by platform.
One piece of older content is leaving right as Season 5 begins: the limited-time Gauntlet mode is being pulled from the active playlist lineup on October 13, with EA leaving the door open for it to return later.
2. Battlefield 6 Joins Xbox Game Pass on October 13
In the same window as the season launch, Microsoft confirmed on Xbox Wire that Battlefield 6 is coming to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on October 13, available on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. This is the first time the game has been included with a Game Pass subscription since it launched roughly a year earlier. Xbox's own listing calls it "the definitive Battlefield experience," and notes that Game Pass Ultimate members get EA Play included plus 10% off eligible EA digital purchases.
Battlefield 6 isn't the only addition that week. Xbox Wire's October wave also lists Valor Mortis and Deep Dish Dungeon joining the same day, with Echo Weaver and Forever Ago already live from October 8, and Bluey's Happy Snaps, Chained Beasts and Beyond These Stars following between October 15 and 16.
3. Two New Las Vegas Maps at Launch
Season 5's headline new content is a pair of desert and city maps built around a fictional Las Vegas Strip:
- Vegas Strip — a dense casino-and-skyscraper map with the series' signature destructible high-rises, illuminated signage and street-level combat.
- Area 51 — a mountain-ringed military installation with damaged radar arrays, a crashed-aircraft hangar area and long sightlines better suited to vehicles and marksman rifles.
Both are playable from day one of Season 5. EA has confirmed a third map, described as a new infantry-focused battleground, but it is arriving later in the season rather than at launch — EA has not yet given it a firm date.
4. New Weapons and the B-81 Cavalry
Four new weapons arrive with the Season 5 launch: the Mk 24 Assault Rifle, RSPR Submachine Gun, Z84M Light Machine Gun and ELR-40 Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle. EA's own weapon reveal does carry a footnote that access requires Battlefield REDSEC plus the latest game updates installed.
On the vehicle side, EA has only confirmed one new addition so far — the B-81 Cavalry — and it isn't arriving with the Season 5 launch itself. EA has pegged it to the Frozen Aces content update in December (more on that below).
5. Rapid Royale: A Faster REDSEC Battle Royale Mode
Battlefield 6's free battle royale offshoot, REDSEC, gets a new mode called Rapid Royale at the start of Season 5, running in both Solos and Trios. EA describes it as a shorter, smaller-scale battle royale experience with a reduced player count and a faster-closing Ring of Fire, aimed at players who want a quicker match than a standard REDSEC round. It launches alongside the season rather than later.
EA also confirmed that the existing Battle Royale Solos/Duos rotation ends as Season 5 begins, with Battle Royale Duos specifically planned to return later in the season.
6. Competitive Changes: Ranked, REDSEC Open Series and Elite Series
Season 5 also brings a refreshed competitive layer. EA has announced a new Ranked Battle Royale season, the REDSEC Open Series, and an Elite Series with cash prizes arriving later in the season — EA has not published an exact start date for the Elite Series yet. Separately, EA says leaderboards are coming to standard Multiplayer, giving players a way to track performance outside of Ranked.
7. The Dead Space "Convergence" Halloween Event
Battlefield 6's Halloween content this year is a crossover with Dead Space. EA calls it the Convergence event, built around a Marker discovered beneath Area 51, and has described it as a limited-time event with a PvE mode. EA says the event starts "this Halloween" but has not given exact start or end dates, noting that more details will be revealed as it gets closer.
8. What's Coming Later in the Season
EA has already mapped out two more content drops for Season 5:
- Casino Heist Update (November 10) — a limited-time event that also brings the third new map, a European-style casino battleground, into rotation.
- Frozen Aces Update (December 8) — introduces the Operation High Roller event, a new Platoons feature, the long-requested Server Browser, updated versions of the existing Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City maps, additional weapons and gear, and the B-81 Cavalry vehicle.
EA has been explicit that these later dates "may change" based on community feedback, so treat November 10 and December 8 as the current plan rather than a guarantee.
9. Watch: The Official Season 5 Trailer
Battlefield's official YouTube channel published the Season 5 gameplay trailer on October 6, showing off the Vegas Strip and Area 51 maps in motion.
