Quick Summary

Wuthering Waves' Version 3.7 update added the new Simulacrur Nexus of Mengzhou region, concluded the Xuanfang story arc, and introduced Resonators Hsin and Suoming alongside quality-of-life features like Main Quest Replay and expanded team slots. Here's everything that changed.

Wuthering Waves' Version 3.7 update, "Prism's Illusion, Heart's Illumination," has been live since September 30, 2026, and it adds far more than a couple of new banners. Alongside two new 5-star Resonators, Kuro Games opened an entire new region, closed out a story arc, and quietly shipped a batch of quality-of-life tools that long-time players have been asking for since launch.

This guide walks through everything 3.7 actually changed: the new Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou area, the story content that wraps up the Xuanfang arc, and features like Main Quest Replay, Echo auto-stacking, and expanded team slots that make day-to-day play noticeably smoother. For build and banner specifics on the update's new Resonators, see our Hsin and Suoming banner schedule and team-building guide.

1. When Prism's Illusion, Heart's Illumination Launched

Version 3.7 went live globally on September 30, 2026, following Kuro Games' scheduled server maintenance. It's available on the same platforms Wuthering Waves has supported for months: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, iOS, and Android, with cross-save carrying progress between them. The update splits its content into two phases, a structure Kuro has used since the game's earlier major patches: Phase 1 began at launch, and Phase 2 opens on October 22 (server time), bringing a second wave of banners and a new login event.

For the full rundown of what shipped on day one and which characters are involved, our 3.7 release date breakdown covers the launch-week details.

2. The Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou: A New Area to Explore

The headline addition in 3.7 is the Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou, a new explorable area that continues the game's ongoing journey across Solaris-3. It's the main stage for the update's new main quest chapter and the place where both new Resonators, Hsin and Suoming, factor into the story. Kuro's own update materials describe it as a continuation of the Mengzhou region rather than a standalone zone, so players who have been following the story since the Mengzhou arc began will recognize the surrounding geography.

As with previous region drops, expect the new area to come with its own exploration puzzles, collectibles, and side content layered in around the main quest path, though Kuro has not published a full activity checklist at the time of writing.

3. Story Content: Chapter IV Act IV and a New Tales Quest

On the narrative side, 3.7 delivers Main Quest Chapter IV, Act IV, "Simulacrum of the Heart," which concludes the Xuanfang storyline that has run through the last several updates.

Beyond the main chapter, 3.7 also adds a new Tales Quest, "Moonlike Heart, Mortal Longing," which unlocks after finishing the main story content. Tales Quests in Wuthering Waves are typically shorter, character-focused side stories, and this one ties directly into the new Simulacrum Nexus area.

4. Two New 5-Star Resonators Join the Roster

Version 3.7 introduces two new 5-star Resonators, Hsin and Suoming, releasing across the update's two phases. Hsin is available now in Phase 1 alongside rerun banners for Chisa and Iuno. Suoming joins in Phase 2 starting October 22, alongside Lucilla and Lynae on rerun. Both new characters are tied into the Simulacrum Nexus storyline, with Hsin introduced as one of the Sentinels of Huanglong now active in Mengzhou.

Kit details, element and weapon breakdowns, and team pairing suggestions for both characters are covered in depth in our dedicated banner guide linked above, including the exact banner windows for each phase. If you're newer to gacha-style pull systems in general, our explainer on how pity and pull odds work in Genshin Impact's Wish system covers mechanics that carry over conceptually to Wuthering Waves' own Convene banners.

5. New Weapons, Echoes and Sonata Effects

The update also ships two new 5-star weapons, Blooming Jadehaven and Unspoken Rue, designed to pair with the new Resonators' kits. On the Echo side, 3.7 adds five new Echoes: Formrender, Soulfrayer, Skywatch Lancer, Bloomburst Puppet, and Jade Nether Serpent, plus a new Phantom variant, Phantom: Skywatch Lancer, and three additional Sonata Effects for players building around the new sets.

If you're not already familiar with how Echo costs, Sonata Effects, and tuning interact, our Echo system guide covers the full mechanic before you start slotting the new drops into a build.

6. Main Quest Replay: Revisit Early-Game Story Content

One of the more requested quality-of-life additions finally arrives in 3.7: Main Quest Replay, accessible through the in-game Journey Log. It lets players revisit main quests from Version 1.1 ("Thaw of Eons"), the Moon-Chasing Festival event from Version 1.2, and the main quests from Version 1.3 ("To the Shore's End"). Progress in replay mode saves automatically when you exit, and you can resume or manually reset a replay at any time, so there's no risk of losing your actual save progress while reliving earlier chapters.

This is particularly useful for newer players who joined after these early chapters were no longer easy to revisit, or for anyone who wants to see early-game cutscenes again without starting a new account.

7. Quality-of-Life Upgrades: Camera, Teams and Echo Management

Several smaller changes in 3.7 add up to a noticeably smoother experience:

  • Camera upgrades: New Handheld and Selfie camera modes join Reference Lines, Quick Focus, and Lens Templates, aimed squarely at players who use the photo mode for screenshots and social posts.
  • Expanded team setups: Players can now save up to 20 team configurations, up from the previous cap, alongside a new 3D Team Setup Mode for previewing squads before heading into combat.
  • Echo auto-stacking: Unequipped, non-upgraded Echoes of the same type now automatically stack in your inventory, up to 999 per item, cutting down on inventory clutter for players who farm Echoes frequently.
  • Tiered Client Resource Downloads: Kuro is running a limited test of selectable install sizes, with UHD, HD, and SD options on PC and HD/SD options on mobile, letting players trade visual fidelity for storage space.

8. Events Running During Version 3.7

Beyond the main story and new characters, 3.7 brings a full slate of limited-time events, including Cubie Wars, Gifts of Waking Moon, Echo Erase, Dreams in the Capsule, Past Dreams, Traced Seals, Artisan's Search, Beyond the Waves: Land of Xuanfang, and Waking Moon Fishing, plus a permanent new activity called Blooms for the Shadow. A login event tied to Phase 2, Gifts of Singing Drizzle, runs from October 22 at 10:00 through November 11 at 03:59 server time, lining up with Suoming's banner window.

Most of these events offer free rewards like Astrites, Shell Credits, and upgrade materials, so it's worth checking the in-game event tab regularly through the rest of the patch cycle rather than waiting until the final days.

9. Quick Tips Recap
