Kuro Games has confirmed that Wuthering Waves Version 3.7, "Prism's Illusion, Heart's Illumination," launches September 30, 2026 with two new Resonators, a new area in Mengzhou, and several quality-of-life upgrades. Here's everything officially confirmed so far.
Kuro Games has confirmed the release date and full feature list for Wuthering Waves Version 3.7, "Prism's Illusion, Heart's Illumination." The update goes live on September 30, 2026 and closes out the Xuanfang saga in Mengzhou with two new playable Resonators, a new explorable region and a batch of long-requested quality-of-life changes.
Here is everything Kuro Games has officially detailed so far, including the new characters, the new area, the new gear, and the changes to how the game handles quest replays, camera angles and install sizes.
1. When Does Wuthering Waves Version 3.7 Launch?
Version 3.7 releases on September 30, 2026 across PC (client download, Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android. Kuro Games detailed the update in its official Version Preview livestream and a follow-up Special Report on the Wuthering Waves website, both published ahead of the update's global rollout.
2. Two New Resonators: Hsin and Suoming
Version 3.7 introduces two new 5-star playable Resonators, Hsin and Suoming, who close out the Xuanfang storyline set in Mengzhou. Both are Electro-attribute characters: Hsin wields a Rectifier and is introduced as Mengzhou's first playable Sentinel, while Suoming fights with a Sword as the founder of the in-fiction Ten Seals Covenant.
The official preview broadcast showed off their kits in gameplay footage rather than just splash art. Hsin fights across two combat forms — a base form and a "white fox" form — and switching between Hsin and Suoming triggers a synergy attack unique to the pair: swapping from Suoming into Hsin calls down periodic lightning strikes, while swapping from Hsin into Suoming fires a series of tracking spear projectiles. Kuro Games has not yet published full skill multipliers or stat curves on its own channels beyond that footage, so exact numbers will only be confirmed once the in-game character pages go live with the update.
Their arrival wraps up a multi-patch narrative thread that has been building in Mengzhou since earlier versions, giving returning players a payoff for a story arc that has spanned several updates.
3. New Area: The Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou
The update adds a new explorable location, the Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou, tied directly to the new Main Quest chapter. Progression through the region unfolds via Main Quest Chapter IV, Act IV: "Simulacrum of the Heart," alongside a new Tales Quest, "Moonlike Heart, Mortal Longing."
4. New Permanent Event: Blooms for the Shadow
Alongside the story content, Kuro Games is adding a new permanent event called "Blooms for the Shadow." Unlike the rotating limited-time events that typically accompany a version launch, a permanent event stays available after its debut window, giving players an ongoing activity to return to well after the initial patch hype fades.
5. Maintenance Window and Compensation
As with every major version update, Wuthering Waves will go offline for scheduled maintenance to deploy Version 3.7. Kuro Games' standard practice for a numbered version update (as seen with 3.6 and earlier releases) is to take servers down for several hours around the update's launch date and issue in-game mail compensation — typically Astrite and Crystal Solvent — to any account that has completed the tutorial and unlocked mail before maintenance begins. Exact start and end times for the 3.7 maintenance window are posted on the official Wuthering Waves website and in-game announcement board shortly before the update, so players should check there directly rather than rely on a fixed schedule this far in advance, since Kuro Games has occasionally extended maintenance and adjusted compensation accordingly.
6. New Weapons and Echoes
Version 3.7 adds two new weapons, Blooming Jadehaven and Unspoken Rue, built to complement Hsin and Suoming's kits. The Echo system also expands with five new entries: Formrender, Soulfrayer, Skywatch Lancer, Bloomburst Puppet and Jade Nether Serpent. Echoes are Wuthering Waves' equivalent of monster-drop equipment: each one is tied to a defeated enemy or boss and slots into a Resonator's build to grant a skill, a stat bonus, or both, so five new entries typically means five new farming targets tied to the update's story content.
Kuro Games has additionally confirmed Echo inventories will now stack automatically up to 999 per item, cutting down on the manual sorting that has been a recurring quality-of-life complaint since launch. For players who have been holding off on clearing out duplicate Echoes because sorting felt tedious, this is one of the more practical changes in the update even if it doesn't show up in any trailer.
7. Quality-of-Life Changes: Camera, Quest Replay and Download Size
Several of the most requested community changes are landing in this update:
- Camera system overhaul adding Handheld and Selfie Modes for photo mode and cutscene framing.
- Main Quest Replay, accessible through the in-game Journey Log, lets players revisit completed story chapters without starting a new save.
- Tiered Client Resource Downloads (UHD/HD/SD options) begin limited testing on PC, iOS and Android, aimed at letting players choose a smaller install size instead of downloading every texture tier by default.
- Team setups increase from a smaller preset limit up to 20 saved teams, useful for players juggling multiple boss-specific or exploration-specific squads.
None of these are combat changes, but together they address some of the more persistent friction points players have raised since Wuthering Waves launched — particularly install size on mobile and the lack of a way to revisit story content.
8. Official Version 3.7 Trailer
Kuro Games published the official Version 3.7 trailer, "Prism's Illusion, Heart's Illumination," on the Wuthering Waves YouTube channel, showing Hsin and Suoming in combat along with a first look at the Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou.
9. How Version 3.7 Compares to Other Live-Service RPGs Right Now
Wuthering Waves isn't the only gacha action RPG rolling out a major content drop this month — another open-world gacha's latest version update landed with its own new characters and anniversary rewards around the same time. If turn-based and tactical systems are more your speed, a beginner's breakdown of Blue Archive's core systems is worth a look, and fans of anime-styled action combat may also want a full weapons and quest breakdown for Project Slayers.
