Zorua Community Day October 2026
Zorua Community Day October 2026
Quick Summary

Pokémon GO's October 2026 Community Day puts Zorua front and center on Saturday, October 10, with triple catch XP, double Candy, and a guaranteed Sucker Punch Zoroark for Trainers who evolve in time. Here's the full bonus list, Special Research ticket details, Shiny odds, and tips for making the most of the three-hour event.

Pokémon GO's next Community Day lands on Saturday, October 10, 2026, and this time the spotlight is on Zorua, the Tricky Fox Pokémon. For three hours, Trainers around the world get boosted spawns, catch bonuses, and a shot at an exclusive-move Zoroark that isn't available any other way.

Here's everything confirmed on the official Pokémon GO news page about the event window, bonuses, Special Research ticket, and how to land the Sucker Punch Zoroark before the bonus period runs out.

1. What Is October 2026 Community Day: Zorua?

Community Day is Pokémon GO's monthly three-hour event where one Pokémon species gets a massive spawn boost, catch bonuses, and an exclusive Fast Attack for Trainers who evolve it during a set window. For October 2026, Niantic has confirmed Zorua as the featured Pokémon. Zorua will appear far more often in the wild for the duration of the event, and Trainers have a chance to find a Shiny Zorua or one with a special in-game photo background.

Zorua and its evolution Zoroark, the Illusion Fox Pokémon, first appeared in the Unova region games and are best known for their signature Illusion ability, which lets them disguise themselves as other Pokémon in the core series. In Pokémon GO that ability doesn't change how Zorua is caught, but it's a big part of why the species has a loyal following — and why this Community Day has been on a lot of Trainers' wish lists.

2. Date, Time and Event Bonuses

The event runs Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time — meaning it starts at the same local clock time everywhere rather than a single global hour. During that three-hour window, the following bonuses are active:

  • 3× XP for catching Pokémon
  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
  • 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catches
  • Incense activated during the event lasts three hours (this does not apply to Daily Adventure Incense)
  • Snapshots taken during Community Day may unlock a surprise

A second set of bonuses runs longer, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time:

  • Lure Modules last one hour instead of 30 minutes, and can attract Zorua
  • One additional Special Trade can be made, for two Special Trades total that day
  • Trades cost 50% less Stardust

3. Zorua Spawns, Shiny Chances and Special Backgrounds

Beyond the general spawn boost, Zorua has a very high chance of appearing at PokéStops with an active regular Lure Module from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time — well past the main three-hour bonus period. Zorua attracted this way keeps the increased Shiny chance and can still carry a Special Background. Niantic hasn't published exact Shiny odds, so treat any percentage you see elsewhere as an estimate rather than an official figure.

The "Special Background" Zorua is a cosmetic variant that shows up with unique scenery in its encounter and catch screen — it's separate from (and stacks with) the Shiny chance.

4. How to Get Zoroark With Sucker Punch

The headline reward for most Trainers is the exclusive-move Zoroark. Evolving Zorua into Zoroark during the event, or within four hours after it ends (so by 9:00 p.m. local time), guarantees the resulting Zoroark knows the Fast Attack Sucker Punch, a move it can't normally learn outside of these windows.

The practical sequence is simple:

  • Catch and stock up on Zorua and Zorua Candy during the 2:00–5:00 p.m. bonus hours (2× Candy per catch makes this fast)
  • Hold your evolutions until you're happy with the Zorua's stats, since evolving doesn't change a Pokémon's IVs
  • Evolve before the 9:00 p.m. local-time cutoff to lock in Sucker Punch

5. Special Research Ticket and Community Day Ultra Box

Niantic is selling an optional, ticketed Special Research story for US$1.99 (or the local equivalent). It has no in-game medal and no narrative story this time — it's a straightforward reward track that includes:

  • Three Zorua encounters with a Special Background
  • Additional Zorua encounters
  • One Premium Battle Pass
  • One Rare Candy XL

Tickets are nonrefundable and subject to local law and Niantic's Terms of Service. They can also be gifted: Trainers at Great Friends level or higher can tap the ticket in the in-game shop and choose Gift instead of Buy. Gifting fails if the recipient already owns or received a ticket.

Separately, a Community Day Ultra Box will be available in the web store for US$1.99 (or local equivalent), bundling one event ticket with five Ultra Balls.

6. Field Research Tasks

Zorua-themed Field Research tasks are live for the event. Completing them can reward Stardust, Ultra Balls, and extra Zorua encounters, with some tasks leading to Special Background Zorua. Field Research tasks are picked up by spinning PokéStops, so it's worth stocking up on stops along your usual Community Day route.

7. Community Ambassador and Leader Events

Niantic is also running separate Timed Research for Community Ambassadors and Community Leaders tied to this Community Day, offering extra Special Background Zorua encounters and premium rewards. These are tied to the Campfire app's local community features rather than the core event, so check your Campfire groups if you're part of one.

8. Tips for Trainers

  • Start early — spawns ramp up right at 2:00 p.m. local time, and the Lure Module bonus runs well past the main bonus window, so there's no need to rush every catch in the first hour.
  • Team up on Lure Modules — since Lures last a full hour today and keep the Shiny chance, grouping with friends at a cluster of PokéStops is efficient even after the 5:00 p.m. XP and Candy bonuses end.
  • Don't evolve immediately — hatch and catch first, check IVs, and evolve your best Zorua rather than the first one you catch.
  • Watch the clock for Sucker Punch — the move bonus ends four hours after the event, at 9:00 p.m. local time, not at midnight.
  • Decide on the ticket early if you want it — Special Research tickets are nonrefundable, so confirm you want the guaranteed Special Background encounters before buying.
  • Save extra Candy for a second or third Zoroark later — Sucker Punch is only guaranteed during the event window, so Trainers who want a high-IV "trade" Zoroark down the line should stock up on Zorua Candy now rather than evolving everything on the day.
  • Check your Campfire groups if you're a Community Ambassador or Leader — the separate Timed Research tied to those roles adds more Special Background Zorua encounters on top of the main event rewards.
