About the NYT Crossword
How hard is each day of the week?
Monday is the easiest, and difficulty climbs steadily through Saturday — the hardest themeless puzzle of the week. Sunday is a larger 21×21 themed grid at roughly Thursday difficulty. If you're new, start with Mondays and work your way up.
When do new NYT puzzles come out?
The next day's puzzle releases at 10 PM ET on weekdays and 6 PM ET on weekends in the NYT Games app and website. Our verified answers go up shortly after each release.
