Quick Summary

EA Sports FC 27 fully licenses six women's football competitions, from the Barclays Women's Super League to the UEFA Women's Champions League. Here's every league, exact club count, and the two brand-new NWSL expansion sides joining the game.

EA Sports FC 27 doesn't just license more men's football than any previous entry in the series — it also carries one of the deepest women's football rosters the game has ever shipped. Six separate women's competitions are fully licensed this year, from the Barclays Women's Super League to the UEFA Women's Champions League, each with its own kits, broadcast presentation and, in a couple of cases, brand-new expansion clubs.

If you've only ever played the men's side of EA Sports FC, it's easy to miss just how much is actually in the game. Here's exactly which women's leagues, clubs and competitions made it into EA Sports FC 27, what's new about each one, and where in the game you'll actually find them.

1. What EA Sports FC 27's Licensing Push Actually Covers

EA's official rundown of FC 27's authenticity puts the scale of the game at more than 21,000 licensed players across 800-plus clubs and national teams, spread over 140 stadiums and 35-plus leagues, backed by over 300 global football partners. That figure covers men's and women's football together — it isn't a men's-only number with women's content bolted on as an afterthought.

Within that total, six competitions make up the women's game specifically: the Barclays Women's Super League, Liga F Moeve, the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga, the Arkema Première Ligue, the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), and the UEFA Women's Champions League. Every one of them ships with licensed kits and an authentic match-day presentation package, not generic stand-ins.

None of this is a one-off addition, either. EA's partnership with UEFA that brought the Women's Champions League into the series traces back to a multi-year licensing agreement first announced in 2022, and the competition has carried over into every mainline entry since it first appeared under the FIFA branding. FC 27 continues that relationship rather than introducing it from scratch, which is part of why the domestic leagues around it have grown so quickly in the years since.

2. The Barclays Women's Super League

The WSL gets the biggest promotion of the bunch. EA describes it as an "all new 14 team led competition" in FC 27, built around authentic kits, the league's real-world broadcast presentation, and its current roster of world-class players. That 14-club lineup covers the English top flight as it actually stood heading into this season, so if a club was promoted or relegated in real life, expect that to be reflected here rather than last year's table.

As with the men's Premier League, the WSL license means you're not just picking a generic "London Blue" or "Manchester Red" team — crests, kits, stadiums and commentary are all built around the real clubs.

3. Liga F Moeve, the Frauen-Bundesliga and the Arkema Première Ligue

Spain, Germany and France's top women's divisions all made the cut again this year, each with full club counts:

  • Liga F Moeve — all 16 clubs from Spain's top women's division, with authentic kits and match overlays.
  • Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga — all 14 German clubs, with the league's own match presentation.
  • Arkema Première Ligue — all 12 clubs from France's top flight, also with authentic match presentation.

None of these three leagues got a specific feature-length reveal the way the WSL and NWSL did, but EA's own materials confirm every club in each competition is present and licensed rather than partially represented. If you've been building a women's Career Mode save around a specific Liga F or Bundesliga side, that club should be in the game under its real name and crest.

4. The NWSL and Its Newest Expansion Clubs

The National Women's Soccer League is the one competition EA specifically called out for new additions. FC 27 includes all 16 NWSL clubs, with an authentic NWSL broadcast experience, and that 16-club number is notable because it includes two brand-new expansion sides: Boston Legacy and Denver Summit.

That's a meaningful detail for anyone who follows the real NWSL — it means FC 27's roster reflects the league's actual current footprint rather than an older snapshot from a previous game. If you want to manage one of the two new clubs from day one in Career Mode, or build a Kick Off squad around them, they should be selectable alongside the rest of the league.

5. The UEFA Women's Champions League

On the European club side, EA lists the UEFA Women's Champions League as fully licensed in FC 27, complete with authentic branding and custom commentary for the competition. EA's partnership with UEFA's women's competitions goes back several years, and FC 27 continues it alongside the men's UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Conference League and Super Cup.

EA's authenticity materials don't publish a specific club count for the Women's Champions League the way they do for the domestic leagues, but the competition itself draws its entrants from the WSL, Liga F, the Frauen-Bundesliga, the Arkema Première Ligue and other UEFA member leagues — so qualifying clubs from those competitions should carry their continental run into FC 27 as well.

6. Where You'll Actually Play With These Teams

Licensed women's clubs and national teams in FC 27 aren't locked to a single mode:

  • Kick Off is the simplest way to try any licensed women's club or country in a one-off match, with no setup required.
  • Career Mode lets you take charge of or create a player for a women's club across any of the six competitions covered above.
  • Ultimate Team integrates women's player items across the mode, including mixed squads — a player's overall rating carries over from Kick Off, so a card's base stats line up with how that player performs in a standard match.

That last point matters if you're building toward a specific squad in Ultimate Team's Squad Building Challenges: women's items are part of the same pack pool, Objective rewards and Evolution-eligible pool as the rest of the game, not a separate side system.

Outside the licensed women's leagues, FC 27's street-football mode, The Grounds, uses created characters rather than licensed club rosters, so it sits apart from the licensing picture described here. If you're more interested in the management side of the women's game, the Manager Career options covered in our Career Mode breakdown apply equally whether you're running a WSL club or a Premier League one.

Because each of these five domestic leagues and the continental competition above them are treated as full, separate licenses rather than a single "women's football" bundle, they also get updated independently. A real-world promotion, relegation or new expansion club in the NWSL, for instance, doesn't have to wait for a wider women's-football overhaul to show up in FC 27 — it's handled the same way EA already handles roster and league changes on the men's side.
