Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 06 Multiplayer Guide: New Maps, T.E.D.D. Trials and Ranked Play Explained
Black Ops 7 Season 06: The Haunting added two new 6v6 maps, a Zombies-themed T.E.D.D. Trials mode, returning Hordepoint and Freeze Tag playlists, and a new Ranked Play cycle. Here's everything that changed in Multiplayer this season, sourced straight from Call of Duty's official patch notes.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone Season 06, subtitled The Haunting, launched on September 17, 2026 and runs through the arrival of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 23. Most of the coverage around the season has focused on the Halloween theming, the Zombies content and the DOOM crossover, but Season 06 also shipped one of the year's bigger Multiplayer drops: two new 6v6 maps, a brand-new Limited-Time Mode built entirely around Zombies locations, two returning fan-favorite LTMs, and a fresh Ranked Play cycle with its own reward track. Here is everything that changed in Black Ops 7 Multiplayer this season, straight from the official patch notes.
1. What's New in Black Ops 7 Season 06 Multiplayer
Across Black Ops 7 and Warzone, Season 06 "amps up the scares," according to the official Call of Duty blog, with two 6v6 maps (one brand-new, one rethemed), the T.E.D.D. Trials Limited-Time Mode, the returning Hordepoint and Freeze Tag playlists, a Black Ops 7 Appreciation Moshpit, and a new Multiplayer Ranked Play cycle with a shortened run time. New Base Weapons — the TR51 Para Assault Rifle, VMP SMG, Arcblade Melee Weapon and Roc 20mm Special Weapon — are also earnable through the Season 06 Battle Pass and in-game events, alongside new Attachments unlockable via Weekly Challenges.
2. Two New Battlegrounds: Quantum and Bloodstead
Quantum
Quantum is a brand-new, medium-sized 6v6 map built around a Guild quantum computing facility buried in Arctic ice. Outdoor spaces like the Courtyard, Square and Catwalk force players to fight through snow and cold, while tighter interior rooms — the Servers, Maintenance, Hallway and a frozen Turbine — bring combat to close range. Structural damage has opened new routes, including gaps in the roof of the central Tower that give aerial killstreaks a way in; the Tower itself is a dangerous, exposed area with cover on all four sides and a hidden flanking path through the middle.
Bloodstead
Bloodstead is a Halloween retheme of the Mason home, also medium-sized and 6v6. The official description leans hard into horror: the waters around the homestead have "turned to blood," zombies lurk around the perimeter, and blood trails mark nearly every corner of the map. Named locations include the Corpse House and the Blood Shed, plus a Cyst Lodge kitchen where "gore overflows." It's a cosmetic retheme rather than a new layout, so players who know the original Mason home should be able to relearn sightlines quickly.
3. T.E.D.D. Trials: Zombies Maps Invade Multiplayer
The headline new mode this season is T.E.D.D. Trials, a 6v6 Limited-Time Mode that brings three Round-Based Zombies locations into Multiplayer for the first time in Black Ops 7. Matches cycle through a random set of five trials, players can wield Ray Guns against the enemy team, and the first side to hit the Score Limit — or whoever has the higher score when time runs out — wins. The three featured maps are:
- Roadkill — set around Reba's Diner, based on the Exit 115 location from Ashes of the Damned.
- Inferno — the ancestral castle from Kowakujō, fought across active volcanoes and lava rivers.
- Lost — the remote Eidskallen Lighthouse from Totenreich, set on a frigid island.
Because T.E.D.D. Trials borrows locations most players only know from Round-Based Zombies, it's worth a few matches purely to learn the callouts before jumping into the Zombies side of Season 06 proper — the mode effectively doubles as a low-stakes way to scout those maps.
4. Hordepoint and Freeze Tag Return
Hordepoint
Hordepoint is a returning Halloween twist on Hardpoint. Zombies roam the map and attack whichever team doesn't control the objective — when the Hardpoint is neutral they attack everyone, and once a team secures it the horde turns on the opposing side only. Eye color tells you where you stand: red-eyed zombies are hostile, blue-eyed zombies are fighting for you. The official notes flag that control can flip fast, so watching the Hardpoint rotation matters as much as watching the enemy team.
Freeze Tag
Freeze Tag is a 6v6 respawn mode where downed players are encased in ice instead of eliminated; only teammates can free them by damaging the ice, and freezing the entire enemy team at once earns a bonus. Proximity chat is enabled for the mode, which is a solid instant-tell if you're queued into it during Season 06's rotation.
5. Black Ops 7 Appreciation Moshpit and Other Playlists
Alongside the seasonal maps and modes, Treyarch added a Black Ops 7 Appreciation Moshpit mixing Face Off and Core game modes across the community's top-voted maps from the past year. It's a rotating playlist rather than a fixed one, so check in-game for what's currently live — the official blog notes to "keep an eye out for additional playlists" as the season continues.
6. Season 06 Ranked Play and Its Rewards
Multiplayer Ranked Play enters its next season alongside The Haunting, running with the same maps, modes and weapon restrictions used by the Call of Duty League. One thing to plan around: Season 06 has a shortened run time compared to earlier seasons, so climbing early is worth more than usual if a particular reward tier is the goal.
Season 06-exclusive Ranked rewards include:
- 5 Wins — Pro Re-Issue M15 Mod 0 Assault Rifle Blueprint
- 50 Wins — "Ranked Season 06 — 100 Wins" Large Decal
- Silver Rank — Season 06 Silver Calling Card
- Gold / Platinum / Diamond / Crimson Rank — matching Calling Card and Weapon Camo for each tier
- Iridescent Rank — Animated Calling Card and Weapon Camo
- Top 250 finish — Animated Calling Card and Animated Weapon Camo
- Top 250, #1 overall — an exclusive Animated Champion Calling Card
7. New Weapons Arriving Alongside the Season
Four new Base Weapons are tied to Season 06: the TR51 Para Assault Rifle and VMP SMG are earnable through the Battle Pass, the Arcblade Melee Weapon is tied to the Camo Costume Party event, and the Roc 20mm Special Weapon comes through the DOOM Event Pass. New Attachments for existing weapons — including the VS Rebound Havoc Repeater, Dravec 45 Aftermath Vertical Mag and Sokol 545 Warpath Blitz Kit — unlock through Weekly Challenges over the course of the season. The DOOM crossover itself, including the Doom Slayer operator and Event Pass, gets a full breakdown in our DOOM Event Pass walkthrough if you want the complete unlock track.
8. Quick Tips and Official Resources
A few things worth knowing before you drop into Season 06 Multiplayer:
- Quantum rewards aggressive, close-range loadouts indoors and long sightlines outdoors — expect a split playstyle map rather than one dominant range.
- Bloodstead plays like the original Mason home, so existing knowledge of that map still applies despite the horror retheme.
- T.E.D.D. Trials is the fastest way to learn Roadkill, Inferno and Lost before tackling their Zombies versions.
- Ranked Play's shortened Season 06 window means early wins matter more than usual for hitting higher reward tiers.
