Here's exactly when the event pass arrives, what's on the free track versus the premium track, and how the rewards tie into everything else Treyarch shipped for the final season of Black Ops 7.
1. When the DOOM Event Pass Goes Live
The DOOM Event Pass is a Limited-Time event running across Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, arriving in-season after Season 06 itself launched on September 17. Games-news outlets tracking the season's content calendar, including PlayStation.Blog's own Season 06 coverage, have pointed to September 24 as the date the event pass goes live — about a week after Season 06 and The Haunting kicked off. Treyarch's official patch notes confirm the event exists and describe its rewards in detail but, as is typical for in-season drops, don't print exact go-live dates for individual events inside the patch notes themselves; check the in-game Event tab on launch day to confirm it's active on your platform.
2. Meet the Doom Slayer: Black Ops 7's Newest Operator
The headline reward is the Doom Slayer, a brand-new JSOC operator built specifically for this event. Official marketing describes him in suitably dramatic terms: "in the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood… and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him Doom Slayer." Cosmetically he brings his signature green-and-black armor and Praetor-style helmet into Black Ops 7's world, and he's paired with a second, separate "Doom Guy" operator skin that leans into the character's classic 1993 look.
Both the base Doom Slayer operator and the Doom Guy skin are Premium Track rewards — the free track gets you partway there with related cosmetics, but the operator himself has to be earned through the paid side of the pass.

Progress on the DOOM Event Pass is driven by XP earned across all four supported modes, and the free track alone is worth playing for. According to Treyarch's official Season 06 rundown, reaching XP milestones on the free track unlocks:

The Premium Track's weapon blueprints borrow directly from DOOM's arsenal rather than just reusing existing Black Ops 7 skins. The "BFG" Siren Special Weapon Blueprint reskins Black Ops 7's Special weapon class as the Doom franchise's iconic BFG, while the "Crucible" Katana reskins the melee slot as Doom Slayer's signature blade. Alongside those, the "Rend" AN-94 Assault Rifle Blueprint and "Tear" M10 Breacher Shotgun Blueprint round out the set with Hell-themed reactive effects on existing Black Ops 7 base weapons. All of them carry over into Warzone, since the event pass is flagged for Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone alike.
6. How the Event Fits into Season 06: The Haunting
The DOOM Event Pass isn't a standalone update — it's riding on top of Season 06's broader Halloween content, officially titled The Haunting. 7. Tips for Progressing the Event Pass Quickly
A few things worth knowing before the event goes live, based on how Treyarch has structured the free track:
- XP from any supported mode counts. The free track is explicitly built around XP milestones "across all modes," so Warzone matches, Zombies rounds, Endgame runs, and Multiplayer games all contribute — you don't need to grind one mode exclusively.
- The free track pays for itself. The 1-Hour Double Weapon XP Token you earn partway through the free track can be popped to speed up unlocking the Roc 20mm and later free-track rewards.
- Premium Track rewards layer on the free track, they don't replace it — buying in gets you the Doom Slayer operator and DOOM blueprints in addition to, not instead of, the free rewards.
- It's confirmed limited-time. Treyarch has labeled it a Limited-Time event, so once Season 06 — the last season of Black Ops 7 — wraps, there's no guarantee the event pass, or the chance to unlock Doom Slayer through it, comes back.
Weapon balance is also worth watching: Treyarch has said weapon tuning for Season 06's new guns will arrive "a short time after" launch once the team has data on where everything lands in the meta.
