Apex Legends is trading the Outlands for the ring. On September 22, the Apex Legends VS Street Fighter 6 Event goes live, turning Olympus into a Street Fighter 6 arena, adding a new limited-time mode called Wildcard, and letting players fight as Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma and Dhalsim inside matches. The event was confirmed by Respawn and EA on September 15 and runs through October 13, 2026.

Here's everything officially confirmed so far: how Wildcard and Fighter Form work, what the four fighter kits do, what the reworked Olympus looks like, every skin and cosmetic in the event, and how to grab the free rewards before the event ends.

1. What Is the Apex Legends VS Street Fighter 6 Event?

The Apex Legends VS Street Fighter 6 Event is a limited-time crossover between Respawn's battle royale and Capcom's fighting game. According to EA's official announcement, the event centers on a new mode called Wildcard, a remixed version of the Olympus map themed around Street Fighter 6, eight Legend skins based on Street Fighter characters, a new Mythic melee weapon, and a set of free rewards tied to Twitch and Discord. It launches September 22 and is scheduled to run for three weeks, closing on October 13.

2. Wildcard Mode and Fighter Form, Explained

Wildcard is the event's headline mode. Drop in and collect Fighter Gear tokens scattered around the remixed map to fill up a Fight Gauge. Once it's full, players can activate Fighter Form, which EA describes as a full third-person camera shift that hands over a fighter's signature moveset: a stronger melee attack, a block ability, extra damage resistance, and a burst of bonus movement speed. The gauge drains over time but tops back up whenever a Fighter Form ability actually lands on an opponent.

The final round of a Wildcard match is called Showdown. During Showdown, every surviving player gets an infinite Fight Gauge, meaning anyone can trigger Fighter Form at will, and downed players keep respawning back into the fight until one squad wins outright.

3. The Four Fighter Kits: Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma and Dhalsim

When a player enters Fighter Form in Wildcard, they pick from one of four Street Fighter 6 kits, each built around that character's real moveset:

• Ryu — faster movement, Hadoken projectiles, and a Shin Shoryuken uppercut as his signature finisher.
• Chun-Li — wall-running mobility, a quicker melee, Kikoken projectiles, and a charged Kikosho blast.
• Akuma — Gou Hadoken fireballs and the Shun Goku Satsu as a devastating close-range finish.
• Dhalsim — low-gravity floating movement, a Yoga Teleport, and a Yoga Sunburst ultimate.

4. Olympus Remix: Luke's Gym and the Fight Night Arena

The event's map changes are concentrated on Olympus. EA's blog describes a "Fight Night" arena built around Luke's Gym, where stepping into the ring itself triggers Fighter Form automatically. Beyond the arena, the rest of the remixed map adds Punch Trucks that generate Fighter Gear tokens, fighter statues, arcade cabinets, and Street Fighter 6-themed street art scattered across the usual Olympus points of interest.

5. Legend Skins, Weapon Skins and the Hadoken Mythic

The event adds eight Legend skins, each pairing an Apex character with a Street Fighter 6 fighter: Sparrow as Ryu, Alter as Chun-Li, Bangalore as Elena, Mirage as Luke, Gibraltar as Akuma, Wattson as Cammy, Caustic as Blanka, and Pathfinder as Dhalsim. Alongside those, EA is releasing eight weapon skins and a Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee with a matching deathbox effect.

Rounding out the cosmetic list are two Skydive Emotes, plus a set of Holosprays, Stickers, Badges, Trackers and Frames themed around the crossover. A Lifeline skin based on Street Fighter 6's Li-Fen is also confirmed as a Reward Shop unlock, purchasable with Zenny earned through normal play during the event.

6. Free Rewards: Twitch Drops, Discord Quest and the Reward Shop

Two of the event's rewards don't cost anything beyond a linked EA account:

• Twitch Drops (September 22–29): watch any Apex Legends stream with drops enabled for a cumulative 60 minutes to earn the "Insert Coin Here" Weapon Charm.
• Discord Quest (September 22–October 12): play Apex Legends for just 15 minutes with the quest active to unlock the Kung Fu Coach Tracker Set.

Both of those rewards require an EA Account linked to the relevant Twitch or Discord account before the watch time or play time is logged, so it's worth connecting accounts before the event opens rather than after.

7. The Marked Midseason Patch: What Else Changed in Split 2

The Street Fighter 6 event arrives on top of the Marked Midseason update, which EA shipped on September 14 alongside the start of Split 2 on September 15. That patch isn't part of the crossover, but it's the ruleset the event is running on, and it made several changes worth knowing:

• Legend buffs: Conduit, Fuse, Catalyst and Bloodhound all received kit changes — Fuse now has 25% built-in explosive damage resistance, and Catalyst's Tactical automatically reinforces doors with its cooldown cut to 15 seconds.
• Legend nerfs: Axle's Ultimate HP dropped from 200 to 150 with a longer cooldown, and Seer's Tactical lost its turn-slow effect.
• Weapon changes: the Triple Take, Bocek Compound Bow and Charge Rifle all received buffs, including a bigger Bocek arrow stockpile and improved Charge Rifle damage past 200 meters.
• Anti-cheat: EA added new detection systems for unauthorized controller hardware and software across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2.
• Map fixes: over 150 quality-of-life fixes across the Outlands, with the bulk of the polish going to World's Edge.

• Link your EA Account to Twitch and Discord before September 22 so drop and quest progress is tracked from the start.
• Prioritize Fighter Gear tokens early in a Wildcard match — filling the Fight Gauge is the only way into Fighter Form outside of the free-for-all Showdown round.
