Quick Summary

EA Sports FC 27 has one of the deepest accessibility menus in the series, from high-contrast pitch colors and colorblind filters to text-to-speech voice chat and simplified one-button controls. Here's every option explained, drawn straight from EA's own official FC 27 accessibility resource page.

EA Sports FC 27 ships with one of the deepest accessibility menus the series has ever had, spread across Visual, Audio, Controls, Communication and mode-specific tabs. Most of it is easy to miss because it is scattered across different sub-menus rather than collected in one place. Below is every accessibility option in FC 27, drawn directly from EA's own FC 27 Accessibility Resources page, organized by what each setting actually changes on screen or at the controller.

1. Finding the Settings: The Accessibility Filter

FC 27's Settings menu includes a dedicated Accessibility filter that hides everything except the options relevant to Visual, Cognitive, Auditory or Mobility needs, each marked with its own icon. On first launch, the game also surfaces a short setup pass covering Subtitles, Color Blindness Filters, Brightness, Contrast, Menu Narration, Text to Speech and Speech to Text, though availability varies by language and region. Anyone who skips that first-boot pass can still reach every option later through the Accessibility filter in Settings.

2. Visual Settings: High Contrast Mode and Shadows

High Contrast Mode is off by default and must be toggled before entering a match. Once enabled, Pitch Saturation can be pushed from 0 (grayscale) up to 1, and the Shader Visual can be set to Cloth Only or Full Body. From there, players can individually recolor the home team, away team, both goalkeepers, the ball and the referee, which makes it far easier to track who's who on a crowded pitch. Separately, Player Shadows and Stadium Shadows can each be switched off — though stadium shadows reset to on if the "Random" match condition is active, so it's worth rechecking after changing weather or kickoff time settings.

3. Gameplay Indicators That Make the Pitch Easier to Read

A cluster of settings controls the on-pitch overlays: Player Indicator Size (Small, Default or Large), Player Indicator Fade (fades the indicator as stamina drops), and custom Player Indicator Colors per teammate. There's also a toggle for PlayStyles and Overhead Indicators, a Next Player Switch Indicator, Corner Kick Trajectory lines, and Precision Pass and Shot Visuals. The in-match Radar can be switched between 2D and 3D, with separate color options for your own team and the opponent — useful for anyone who finds the default radar colors hard to distinguish at a glance.

4. Camera and Effects: Cutting Down Motion and Flashing

For players sensitive to screen shake or sudden camera cuts, FC 27 lets you turn off Camera Shake Visuals (removes the shake during goal celebrations) and POV Camera Scenes (removes the first-person cuts used for bookings, set pieces, goals and saves). Power Shot Zoom can also be disabled if the zoom-in on power shots is disorienting. These sit alongside the game's full camera style list — Tactical, EA Sports GameCam, Tele Broadcast, Tele, Co-Op, Classic, Dynamic, End to End, Pro, Broadcast and Legacy — which Offline, Online, Player Career and Clubs 11v11 matches each let you set independently, all defaulting to Competitive. For a deeper look at tuning Height, Zoom and Pro Camera sliders for competitive play, see our full breakdown of FC 27's camera, controller and difficulty settings.

5. The Grounds: Accessibility Options Specific to Street Football

The Grounds gets its own accessibility sub-menu. Kickabout Teammate Indicators can be set to None or the default Red vs. Blue scheme, the Drop Kick Reticle Size scales from 1 to 5, and both the Drop Kick Reticle Color and Hit Confirm Color can be changed to red, blue, green or magenta if the default white is hard to spot against the pitch. Ball Trail Color gets the same five-color choice, which matters most in the small-sided Kickabout and Street Football modes covered in our guide to The Grounds' Clubs, Archetypes and Kickabouts.

6. Subtitles and Menu Text

Subtitles are off by default and, when enabled, apply to Career mode cinematics — the kind of scenes used in Manager Live and the story-driven moments covered in our Career Mode: Manager Live and Creator Challenges guide. Text size runs from Extra Small to Extra Large, and the color can be set to white, lavender, orange, cyan or yellow, with an optional drop shadow and an optional dark background container for extra contrast. Separately, High Contrast Menus swaps the game's translucent menu tiles for opaque ones, and the animated Main Menu Video can be replaced with a static slideshow for anyone who prefers a calmer main menu.

7. Colorblind Filters, Brightness and Contrast

Under Display, the Colorblindness filter offers Protanopia, Deuteranopia or Tritanopia modes, each with its own intensity slider from 0 to 10 (default 6). Brightness and Contrast are both adjustable from 0 to 10 as well. Combined with the custom team, ball and referee colors available in High Contrast Mode, these give players several independent ways to separate kit colors, the ball and the pitch rather than relying on a single global filter.

8. Communication: Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text

For North American players, FC 27 includes Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text for voice chat — typed messages can be read aloud to teammates, and incoming voice chat can be transcribed into text on screen. Both can be turned on during the first-boot accessibility pass or later from the in-game accessibility menu. On the audio side, Menu Narration (also North America, English only) reads menu items and highlighted text aloud, and sits next to the standard Menu SFX, EA Music and mode-specific volume sliders for 11-a-side, Rush and The Grounds.

9. Controller, Mouse and Keyboard Accessibility

Beyond the default Classic controller layout, FC 27 offers Alternate, Two Button and One Button schemes, with the simplified layouts automating some actions for players who find the full control set difficult to manage. Classic and Alternate both support full Gameplay Input Remapping for face buttons, shoulder buttons, triggers and the move action, plus separate Menu Navigation Remapping for stick and shoulder-button preferences. Analog Sprint ties sprint speed to right-trigger pressure instead of a simple on/off press, and PC and PS5 players get a User Vibration Feedback setting (Enhanced, Intense, Classic or Off). On PC, mouse-and-keyboard players get Classic, Alternate or Two Button layouts, keyboard key remapping, Larger Clickable Targets for on-screen UI, and an On-Screen Pause option. One restriction to know going in: Competitive Online matches don't allow the One Button or Two Button layouts, or Mouse and Keyboard.

10. Quick Tips Recap

  • Open Settings > Accessibility to filter the full options list down to Visual, Cognitive, Auditory and Mobility categories.
  • Turn on High Contrast Mode before kickoff and recolor kits, the ball and the referee if the default palette is hard to track.
  • Disable Camera Shake Visuals and POV Camera Scenes if goal celebrations or set-piece cuts are disorienting.
  • Check The Grounds' own indicator and color settings separately — they don't inherit your 11-a-side choices.
  • Try Two Button or One Button controller layouts for a simplified control scheme, but expect them to be locked out of Competitive Online.
  • North American players should check Text-to-Speech, Speech-to-Text and Menu Narration — all three are off or limited by default.
