Introduction
In Escape from the Shadows Walkthrough Part 1, we helped the detective find hidden truths and hidden objects, explore areas for items, and solve mini-games. A new mystery has just opened as the detective meets Laia to learn the secret of Penumbra and discovers an open pair of scissors in his hand; meanwhile, he doesn’t know about that. Soon, the game shows a cut scene wherein Bastian and Laia are locked somewhere in the dark without any traces left behind.
They see the light coming out of the top, and upon getting access to it, they discover a Ruined Temple. Instead of the first character you used to investigate Bastian House, the game lets you control both characters to explore the Ruined Temple and search for hidden objects to solve the mystery. Escape from the Shadows Walkthrough – Ruined Temple
Escape from the Shadows Part 2 starts from a Ruined Temple where many areas are available to explore to find hidden items and solve mysteries. Searching for items without any guide might not be in your favor because the gameplay is challenging, and puzzles are tricky to solve. Therefore, we recommend reading Escape from the Shadows Gameplay Guide at walkthroughs.net to find all the answers.
- As mentioned above, several areas are available to explore, and first, you must search for a lever to open the door. To do this, you must tap the right arrow to open the next scene and go upstairs two times to reach the top.
- Examine the red-colored box to obtain a Magnifying Glass and books to get a clue. Hit the back button twice to return to your earlier position and go upstairs on the left side for the Lever.
- Tap the left arrow to discover upstairs and two doors on the front wall. Tap the skeleton behind the stairs to find a key in its hand.
Open the Blue-colored Door
- Open the blue-colored door and go through it to discover books on the table. See the paper clue paper with something drawn on it and the painting above the fireplace.
- A few hands are coming out of the wall that you must tap in a sequence, as shown in the image below.
- Once you solve the puzzle, a hand emerges from the hole to open the trunk and let you obtain the Ring and a Key.
Go Upstairs
- Leave the room and come out. Go upstairs, where you discover two other doors and a red-colored box between them on a shelf.
- Select and use the key from your panel to open the green-colored door and go through it to investigate the area.
- Pick up a hanger from the rack and read the note hidden in the book with a clue. Open the box on the first shelf from the bottom of the rack to discover a black-colored cat.
- Tap the hands coming out from the books with numbers using their fingers and notice the symbols as follows:
- 1 – Wind
- 2 – Sun
- 3 – Star
- 4 – Moon
Return to the First Location
- Leave everything in this area and go to your first position, where you discovered a cupboard, as shown in the image.
- Set symbols on the lock to open it and obtain a Pair of Pliers.
- Now, combine the Hanger and a Pair of Pliers to get a Hook.
- Go to the right side, use the Hook to open the first door, and go through it to discover a new room with several mini-games, books on the floor, and a chair on the left side with an eagle head.
- Choose the Lever from your panel and put it near the chair’s head. And don’t forget to pull it, but it won’t work as there is something wrong, and you need to resolve it first.
- On the right wall, a board holds four symbols: Squirrel, Cat, Fish, and Butterfly.
- You have to set their positions and are already familiar with them as you discover four notes from different books. So, set symbols as follows:
- Squirrel – 3
- Cat – 5
- Fish – 1
- Butterfly – 4
- Once you solve the puzzle, the game gives you a chicken piece that you must offer to strange creatures watching you from a window in the room you opened using the key.
Visit the Room
- Leave the room and go to the right side, go upstairs, and go upstairs again; enter the first room and give the chicken piece to the strange creatures on the window to get a tag with strange symbols.
Open the Next Door
Using the tag may help you open the door next to the green, but you should be careful as something strange awaits you.
- When both characters are about to enter the newly opened room, the trapdoor opens and engulfs Laia; meanwhile, a massive bird appears on the spot and vomits a fish. At that time, you must collect the fish and open the drawer to collect a sheet.
Go Downstairs and Enter the Room
- To get a clue, you must go down and enter the room you opened, tap the painting above the fireplace, and put the transparent sheet on it.
- Head to the storage cabinet on the left side and enter the symbols you discovered after putting the transparent sheet on the frame.
- Head to the wardrobe on the left side and put symbols to unlock it for collecting Glass Cutter.
- Afterward, leave the room and move toward the right side until you discover the stairs. Go upstairs twice to reach the top and use the Glass Cutter to obtain a Pipe Piece.
- Now, return to the same room where you came from and put the pipe piece on the wall to start a mini-game.
- Solve the Pipe Puzzle to start the water flow and pull the Lever to fill the tub with water.
- Select the fish from your panel and put it on the tub to get a key from its mouth.
- Afterward, you must leave everything and move on to the top after going upstairs on the right side. Select and use the key to open the hidden section in the tree.
- Examine the area to obtain a gem; combine it with a Ring in your panel. Before leaving the spot, don’t forget to see a black cat and the clue in the book.
- Go down and interact with the skeleton behind the stairs. Select the Ring with a Diamond and put it on your finger to get a key.
- Select the key and use it to open the door behind the skeleton. Go through the doorway to reveal a new area and find hidden items to solve mysteries.
Enter the Room behind the Skeleton
The room is decorated with a rack, table, shelf, and a trunk above the rug. There’s a window on the right side and many eggs in the rack.
- First, tap the shelf above the table to pick up a small pouch and add it to your inventory.
- Second, see through the window to discover ghosts moving randomly.
- Leave the room for this time, go upstairs, and tap the red-colored box. To open it, you must set four images. The shapes are as follows: M (Up), Circle (Left), Square (Right), and Triangle (Bottom). Examine the box to obtain a Cup.
- Get out of that area and head to the right side, where you must enter the room before the stairs. Fill the cup with water and give it to the knight on the left side near the skeleton area.
- Obtain the sword from the spot and move to the right side. Go upstairs, select the small pouch from your panel, and fill the sand to the hourglass.
- Choose the magnifying glass from your panel and examine the hourglass to discover code (0485).
- Once you get a clue, go to the room behind the skeleton and tap the trunk to open the zoom view to set the passcode as shown in the image.
- As the trunk opens, pick up birdseed and go to the room where you have discovered a massive bird. Select the birdseed and give it to the bird to get an egg.
- Afterward, the bird flies, breaking the ceiling, and the game shows you clues on pillars that you must set on a trunk to open it for a Matchbox and a Card.
- Get out of your room, go downstairs, and head to the right-side door. Use the matchbox to set a fire in the fireplace and visit the room next to it to solve the egg puzzle.
- Select the egg from your inventory and put it on the shelf to start a mini-game. You must examine the clue in your inventory and obtain the second sword piece to find the solution.
- Go close to the fireplace and put both pieces of the sword on fire to make it repaired.
- Now, leave the room and go to the right side. Interact with the door on the right side near the stairs and use the sword as a handle to open the door.
- As Bastian tries to enter the room, the evil creature appears to stop him.
